NEW THOR TRAILER (
on YouTube). The more footage and pics I see from Thor, the more EXCITED I become. Why isn't it in theatres NOW?!
Entertainment Weekly has Henry Cavill on the cover this week. Look at that adorkable smile! Got my copy this morning. :-D
Shane Black is in final negotiations to direct and possibly write Iron Man 3. He wrote and directed Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang (and is thus an old friend of RDJ's), and he wrote the first two Lethal Weapon films, so I think this is a great choice.
Well, I certainly think
Detroit needs a Robocop statue.

The 10 Most Cheesilicious Sword and Sorcery Films of the 80's. Totally agree about the awesomeness of Willow (you stole my blackroot!), Clash of the Titans and Beastmaster (he has ferrets!). The fate of the princess in Dragonslayer still infuriates me for entirely personal reasons. For some reason I really loved Krull when I was a kid. I haven't seen it for many years, so I couldn't even tell you why. Yes, I have the theme song to The Neverending Story on my iTunes. What of it? ::lifts chin:: And c'mon, Labyrinth had Bowie. Some people in the comments wondered why Ladyhawke wasn't included, but IMO, the only thing dated about that film was the music.
It's All-Star weekend! The Celebrity Game and the Rookie Challenge were yesterday and today the all-stars' practices and the shooting and slam dunk contests. The Celeb game was exciting and frustrating because I'm used to seeing most shots going into the basket when I watch basketball and I kept having to remind myself that most of the players weren't athletes so I shouldn't get mad at them. ;-) I don't begrudge
Justin Bieber his MVP win because while it was a given (it was fan-voted), he was both a good team player and he was the only celeb on his team making threes (he just needs to grow up). On his team, coached by Magic Johnson, Romeo, Trey Songz, and ex-player Jalen Rose played well, and Common on the East team, too. The East's coach, Bill Walton, was taking things too seriously, which was sort of funny. While Scottie Pippen was obviously the best player on the court (he still makes it look so easy), my vote for MVP would have gone to Secretary of Education Arne Duncan. Most of the other celebs were pretty useless (sorry, Zachary Levi and Nick Cannon), and Michael Rappaport was obnoxious and an attention hog, as usual. Unsurprisingly, Blake Griffin won the slam dunk contest, but I actually preferred DeMar DeRozan's dunks.
Vampire Diaries: Elena is Hardcore
Because Elena proving to to Elijah that she's not bluffing and taking him out, first by stabbing herself then him was HARDCORE. But I'm sure we haven't seen the last of Elijah. Someone will pull that dagger out and he'll be back with his nice hair, causing mischief again.
Also hardcore? Alaric! For stabbing Elijah the first time, since Damon couldn't do it. But he loses points for the way he didn't give Jenna any answers. Couldn't he just have told her that he thought his wife had died, and he only recently found out that she in fact alive and that she had just left him? All of which is the perfect truth. And uh-oh, does giving his ring back to John mean Alaric's going to die? It better not! Damon has only one friend and that's Alaric!
Go away, manwitches! Lying from the start, planning to kill an innocent, and taking Bonnie's magic? Not cool. The only positive of Bonnie's lost magic is that now she can't be used to complete the ritual.
This episode also made me really sad that we can only see Lexi in flashbacks. She was so awesome.
Smallville
This episode really highlighted how little I care about Chloe/Oliver. In the early seasons of the show, it was understandable for Chloe to have such a large role. Clark wasn't in Metropolis, and he hadn't met his super friends yet, so of course he was going to have friends in Smallville. But now that we've added so many DC characters to the show, to me at least, she now sticks out like a sore thumb. I don't dislike her, I just really don't care, and it's making me not care about Oliver, too.
I'm all about Lois & Clark, though.
Srsly, are they cute or what?
And Clark got to do some investigative work, use his Super Peepers, and is turning into the mild-mannered reporter Clark Kent we know best.
I'm debating over whether to watch next week's episode. I hate stories where people get drunk or high and do stupid things.
Being Human series 3 premiered on BBC America tonight, and it has reaffirmed my adoration for Annie, Mitchell, George and Nina. ♥♥♥♥
