Golden Globes

Another Southland icon post coming tomorrow, probably. I really need to slow down, but when I see caps I just want to icon them immediately!

Hand-kissing promptathon.

And now, a huge Golden Globes picspam. NOT DIAL-UP FRIENDLY.

The Avengers were at the Golden Globes, so I'm sure everyone felt well-protected.

Iron Man RDJ!

Stark/Stacy? :-O

I wonder what they were talking about.

Get your hands out of your pockets, Captain America.

Thor! How are you so good-looking? How is your voice so wonderful? Oh right, you're a god. Unfortunately, I can't find any pics of Thor and Captain America presenting an award together. :-(

Jeremy Renner ILU!

Mark Ruffalo! He's a real sweetheart.

The Bride of Frankenstein. Er, I mean Black Widow. Sorry, it's the hair. Gurl, you do not need sleeves.

Who knows if Andrew is going to be in The Avenger's movie (I'm guessing no), but he gets included because he's still Spider-Man! Who else loved the way Jesse Eisenberg pulled Andrew up out of his chair to join the rest of The Social Network people up on stage?

Yeah, I ship it.

And now, the rest of the guys I love (couldn't find a picture of Idris Elba, unfortunately. No one interviewed him, either. I wonder if he walked the red carpet at all ::sadface::):

Mr. Darcy! \o/\o/\o/ I'm glad this is his year.

Ed Exley!

JGL with his HitRECord button.

Scott Caan, yay!

LL Cool J!

Zachary Levi, woo!

The men of Dexter.

Matt Bomer looking debonair, as usual.

And Steve Buscemi with his lovely Boardwalk Empire co-star, Kelly Macdonald.

Now for some ladies that I love:

At first I wasn't sure how I felt about Amy Adams' dress, but after looking at it again, I've decided I like it.

And really, just look at that beautiful face. I love her.

The Queen and The White Witch. :-D

I adore you, Christina, but you don't need all that material covering your shoulder and half of your neck. Especially when you have your hair down, too. But the line of the dress is beautiful.

The less said about Halle Berry's lingerie the better.

And now the cast of Glee was out in force:

I didn't love Dianna's dress, but just look at that face. She's like a porcelain doll.

Darren Criss with his obligatory pink sunglasses.

Aww! Dot & Mark!

I am SO HAPPY for Chris. I would also have been very happy if Scott Caan had won, but Chris is one of My Favorites, so I was over the moon for him. That look of utter shock on his face when his name was announced made the entire evening for me.

Here are videos of the wins and speeches for Chris, Jane and Glee as well as more pictures.

I wasn't as shocked as Chris was since the buzz was in his favor, but I was very shocked that Katey Sagal won Actress in a Drama. She certainly deserves it, but I didn't think they'd actually give it to her. I would have been just as happy had Elisabeth Moss won, though. Another big shock was Carlos winning over The Pacific and Temple Grandin.

Even though Boardwalk Empire is the new shiny and that's why I wasn't at all surprised the show and Steve Buscemi won, I still think Mad Men and Jon Hamm should have won. I loooooove Boardwalk Empire, but Mad Men just had the stronger season overall, IMO. Love or hate Don Draper, but Jon Hamm ran the gamut of emotions and gave a stellar performance.

Aaron Sorkin had some nice words to say: "Elite is not a bad word, it's an aspirational one." "Smart girls have more fun."

YAY Melissa Leo! I wish she would win something for Treme.

All the blanked out profanity, Paul Giamatti! Was he drunk?

Did Michelle Pfeiffer look fabulous or what?

You know, before today I had no idea what The Kids are All Right was actually about? The commercials told me nothing, but thankfully they explained it tonight.

Ricky Gervais was especially brutal this year.

And I'll end with my totally subjective Best Dressed List:

Lea Michele

ILU Heather Morris.

I thought Piper Perabo looked simple and pretty.

Eva Longoria

Kelly Osbourne looked very elegant.

Hailee Steinfeld of True Grit was fresh-faced and age-appropriate.

I looooved Megan Fox's dress.

Sarah Hyland. This was probably my favorite dress of the evening.

Just look at the detailing.

It may seem like I only like black, white, beige and blush, but that's not true. I just didn't love the cut/fabric/embellishments on any of the colorful dresses this year, unfortunately. There was a lot of beautiful green, for instance, but the fabric of Catherine Zeta-Jones' gown looked (and sounded) like Astroturf to me.
