Here's a quick CSS fix for the Facebook/Twitter cross-posting comment thingy (and
here's a slightly different one that also works). The important part is adding .b-repost-item {display:none} at the very end of your CSS. It doesn't stop cross-posting by those who have auto-sharing enabled, but it will universally erase of the ticky boxes in the comment section on your journal as long as people read it in your style.
Last night's episode of White Collar reminded me that I hadn't posted my cracky icons of that recent prom-like Matt Bomer/Tim DeKay pic.
Believe it or not,
that bow tie arch is a real prom decoration. Only $99.99! Did any of you all have amusing or ultra-lame prom/homecoming/birthday party themes? I never attended any prom or homecoming dances, so I don't even remember which themes my high school had.
BTW, you can purchase Peter's cufflinks
here.
And speaking of cufflinks, I think
Ariadne would get a kick (heh) out of these. I could also see her giving Arthur & Eames
this set as a silly gift. Or Eames giving Arthur
these or
these because they amused him.
Now, me? Any of these would do me fine (

8).
And a second random question for the flist: are you a collector? What did you/do you collect?
In high school, I used to collect snowglobes. Not the
wee plastic ones, but nice Disney ones. I didn't buy every one I came across; just the ones I liked best. This
Disney Villians snowglobe is my favorite and sits on top of my bookcase. My second-favorite is this
Hunchback of Notre Dame palm-reading snowglobe, which plays "Heaven's Light" beautifully. I got this
Little Mermaid snowglobe because I loved the detail on the base, this
Mulan snowglobe because of the beautiful colors, this
Hercules snowglobe because it plays "I Won't Say (I'm in Love)," and this
Tarzan snowglobe because I liked their poses. I also have a non-Disney carousel horse snowglobe, which started off my collection. If I still collected and had cash to burn, I would love these:
Princess and the Frog, these two Maleficent globes (
1,
2), these three Fantasia globes (
1,
2,
3),
Haunted Mansion,
Legend of Sleepy Hollow,
Steamboat Willie, and these
Peter Pan snowglobe bookends are cool.
Nowadays, I've been half-heartedly collecting
mercury glass, which is a bit harder to do since it's more pricey and I seriously don't have enough room for it.
Something I've been planning to collect in the future are retro posters to match my evolving bedroom decor (Golden Age of Travel with a geeky twist). For years, this has been first on my to-buy list:
World's Fair, Chicago 1933, which I could hang with a
future World's Fair poster, this
Europa Air advert, and perhaps this retro
UP poster. In the wintertime, I can see pairing a
Hoth poster with
the Misty Mountains, in spring, Rivendell with
Naboo, and in summer,
Tatooine and
Miranda. And here's a cute artsy poster of
Endor, and more
UP posters.
