Fun music video for "Discombobulate" from the Sherlock Holmes score by Hans Zimmer with cameos from Robert Downey Jr & Guy Ritchie!
Pictures from the
premiere of the upcoming HBO epic miniseries The Pacific! I see you ASkars and Ron Livingston! I know Michael Cudlitz was there, too.
SING STARK SANDS SING! I really like Stark's rendition of "Hey Ya," but I couldn't listen to more than 20 seconds of his cover of "Billie Jean" because the autotune had me LOLing too hard.
Nigella Lawson was Tim Burton's inspiration for his White Queen, played by Anne Hathaway in Alice in Wonderland. I love that!
And speaking of people I love,
Shakira's new video for "Gypsy" featuring Rafa Nadal!
Guess what's coming to DVD? If you answered Ghostwriter, my response would be: ~WORD~.
Congrats to the Canadian women's hockey team for winning gold! Their goalie, in particular, was fabulous! It wasn't a surprising win, as they'd been the overwhelming favorites and on home ice, but it was an essential win. I only wish Team USA had played a bit better and at least not ended up with a goose egg, but that's the way the puck falls.
OMG AERIALS IS INHUMAN. Whenever I think of this event, I think of the
System of a Down song of the same name. Also, the uniforms for Team USA look like pyjamas with buttons on the jacket that look like Captain America's shield, which amuses me to no end. Jeret Peterson's "Hurricane" was very impressive and earned him a silver medal, but Aleksei Grishin's last jump was really graceful and controlled and to quote the commentator, "the landing was money."
Bill Demong & Johnny Spillane went 1-2 in the individual large hill Nordic Combined! \o/ The U.S. had never won any medals in Nordic Combined before, so this is a stellar year for the team. Bill Demong has had a hard time of it over the years, fracturing his skull in 2002 and being disqualified for misplacing his athlete's bib at the 2009 World Championships, so I'm really happy that everything came together for him this year.
Ladies figure skating will get its own post, maybe tonight, maybe tomorrow.
