I hope everyone had a fun Talk Like a Pirate Day. ;-D

College Football Blather: USC lost to Washington, which was sorta hilarious. The sports pundits have been saying all week that that game could be a trap for USC, and indeed it was, giving Washington its first win in a long while and quite possibly dashing any hopes USC had for the national title. Ouch. Less surprising was the outcome of Tennessee vs. Florida. There was also a beautiful touchdown pass in the first quarter of the Arkansas/UGA game and another purdy one just before halftime in the Cincinnati/Oregon State game. But during one return earlier in the game, the guy who was supposed to catch the punt seemed to have a brain spazz, standing there stupidly as the ball dropped behind him, just inside the endzone, and one of the guys on the other team wisely thought, "You're not going to take that and run? Okay, I'll just force you guys to take possession at the two-yard line." The only way I can rationalize what was going through the intended receiver's head is that maybe he assumed that because the ball landed behind him, it was in the endzone or would quickly roll there, which would send it back to the 20, but you can't just assume stuff like that. They certainly paid for it when the Beavers got a safety a few plays later. And UCLA actually won. I was wondering there for awhile because the starting quarterback this season fractured his jaw last week, so they were stuck with last season's quarterback, who has trouble passing the ball to his own team. :-\

Emmy Red Carpet: Poor Jason Stackhouse is sweating buckets. I've never seen Simon Baker so nervous. Christina Hendricks always looks gorgeous, and that color is beautiful, but I'm not feeling the lace all the way down the back. Sandra Oh would look awesome if she didn't have a rope loosely tied around her waist. MCH & Jennifer Carpenter look so adorable and happy together! Mariska Hargitay looked lovely. Anna Torv is a beautiful gal, but I wish she had chosen something different. The teal of Julia Louis-Dreyfus' dress was fab, though. Chris O'Donnell and LL Cool J of NCIS:LA worked the red carpet together and were very cute.

I'm streaming the show online right now, but I'll wait to talk about winners until after I see the west coast airing. Okay, maybe I'll talk about one:

CHENO OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pushing Daisies FTW!
