OMG WUT?! UCLA beat Tennessee?! When I first heard Tennessee was going to be in town, I considered getting tickets (I can't help it, I have a fondness for Tennessee the team, the band, and their fight song), but ended up passing because games that start in sunlight at this time of year are uncomfortably hot, and I'll admit I thought it was going to be a disheartening blowout. Guess I should have gone anyway because it turned out to be an awesome game. I knew the Bruin defense was going to be formidable, especially with Norm Chow at the helm now, but with a completely green quarterback, no one knew if they had an offense...at all. And yes, the first half was something of a disaster offensively and they lost three veterans to injuries, but during halftime, they must have really pumped up the quarterback and the younger guys because they came out fighting and pulled through with a win in OT!
Watching the game meant I missed most of Prison Break, my cracky show of near-lameness. But regarding what I did see, MAHONE I HAVE MISSED YOU!!! Yesterday,
kernezelda posted a
picspam of Michael/Mahone moments from seasons 2 & 3, wherein obvious eyesex is obvious, and 3x04 shows that slash is alive and well. And
sdwolfpup recently posted
The Beginner's Guide to Michael/Mahone, with fic, icon and vid recs.
iconzero has some really great
Dirty Harry and Ocean's 11 icons.
Aww, look at
Chris Noth and his adorable child, Orion!
This is totally unconfirmed, but
it would be crazy yet kind of awesome if this guy was Watson to Robert Downey Jr's Sherlock Holmes.
Yesterday, I caught a new documentary on HBO,
The Black List, which contains a series of short stories about race, struggle and achievement, told by those who experienced them. I think my favorite stories came from Chris Rock (who reminds my mother and I a bit of my brother at times), Susan Rice (Obama's senior campaign advisor), Colin Powell and dancer Bill T. Jones. It's nothing world-changing, at least not for myself or my family, but it was really interesting to hear about who and what inspired those interviewed to achieve. And it was nice to see Sean "Diddy" Combs (or whatever it is he's calling himself nowadays) and Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash speaking earnestly about their roots.
OH. MY. GOD. This had better not be the last episode of Middleman I ever see!! Renew this show ABC Family, or I will be Seriously Displeased.
Ida does origami! ZOMG beryllium sphere! It always comes down to the beryllium spheres, doesn't it? LOL, Hot Pockets are the American empanada. And Wendy speaks Spanish! Okay, who else slashes Tyler/Manservant Neville? ::cough:: Nevermind. Wonder Twin powers! The Middleman gets peeved at palindrome monologues! House of Pancakes!
Oh duh, I finally got the significance of the Russell and Van Cleef IDs Wendy and MM had. Yes, yes, Escape from New York, I know. ::smacks head:: Alt!Noser is still totally awesome. OH LORD, Terminator refs. Priest!Pip ZOMGZOMGZOMG. I seriously laughed so hard. Alt!Star Trek starred GEORGE TAKEI!! They are seriously throwing the references at us like fastballs! BEARS OH NOES! WHAT A GAS! I LOVE THIS SHOW.
And this just proves that Wendy/Lacey BFFness transcends universes. Lacey only needed a heartfelt apology from Dub Dub to be on her side. I love them so.
Mansicle Neville! EVIL!WENDY! And Middleman-in-training!Lacey!!!
Okay, I'm going to ship Alt!MM/MM-in-training!Lacey SO HARD. Just FYI. ;-) I've never been 100% for MM/Lacey, though I did think it was kind of a cute pairing, but Alt!MM/MMIT!Lacey is too awesome to deny.
PLEASE COME BACK TO US NEXT YEAR MIDDLEMAN!!!
