So, I got next week's TV Guide in the mail today, and the Q&A is with Michael Weatherly! I don't know if this has been all over the place yet, but when asked about the tensions on set which resulted in Bellasario leaving NCIS, he answered: "I stay largely outside the politics of the show. I learned two lessons on another show [Dark Angel]: The less I say the better, and don't date your costar! So Mark Harmon and I have never dated. Though the silver fox and I did spend a week in Vermont that nobody knows about." Oh, you're such a card, MW. And I love him for loving Bringing Up Baby.

Next week's TV Guide has Heroes illustrated covers (I got the illo by Michael Turner), with spoilery pics and an article. I'm sure someone will scan and put it up in the next day or so, if they haven't done so already.

And look who's guest starring on an upcoming episode of Numb3rs!

Writers strike, ZOMG! I live right behind one studio and down the street from another, so I saw a lot of writers picketing today at all the entrances. We honked and waved at them, and they waved back! It was really surreal.

I'm redecorating my bedroom. Well, it's more of a shift in focus rather than a complete re-do. Currently, my room is a mix of Indian, Middle Eastern & Moroccan style--saris tenting the ceiling, lanterns, lots of colorful pillows, etc. But I need a bit of a change, so I'm going to shift things toward the 1920s/30s art deco style. Wikipedia has a good definition of art deco: The Art Deco style celebrates the Machine Age through explicit use of man-made materials (particularly glass and stainless steel), symmetry, repetition, modified by Asian influences such as the use of silks and Middle Eastern designs. Considering my current décor, I'm halfway there already. I particularly like the leanings during the art deco period towards aviation and travel. So think Indiana Jones, The Mummy, The Rocketeer & The Phantom. Over the weekend, I found a couple trunks, a little stainless steel airplane (it looks kinda like this, only more like a Flying Fortress, with propellers along the wings and $20 cheaper because I usually balk at spending more than $13 on anything and why should I have to?) and other doodads, and I've got my eye on a few maps and vintage travel posters (this and that especially). I still need a bit more glass and mirrors, so I'm thinking cocktail glasses on a mirrored tray. A set of martini glasses at ROSS is only $6.99. ;-) I will have to make space for all this by taking apart my Notre Dame Cathedral and Golden Hall of Edoras Puzz-3Ds and perhaps stowing away my TV because I really never watch TV in my room. I really only kept it to play old school SNES, but I could hook that up to any TV in the house.

OMG, here's the pilot to the classic TV show, Wonder Woman. Woo, Linda Carter!

And lastly, Dexter!

While Lila may understand Dexter, I really don't think she should be in a position to guide Dexter. I don't have the serious Lila hate that most in Dexter fandom seem to have, but that's mostly because I'm an old fan of Jaime Murray's so I'm already inclined to like her. Her character is a mess of a girl, but who on this show doesn't have issues? While I'm not surprised that Dexter and Lila are now involved, as it did seem inevitable, but I prefer Dexter with Rita and I think they will get back together. I am glad that Dexter didn't sleep with Lila until after Rita said they were done. Because of course Dexter would take her hasty words literally. And I'm really happy Dexter was honest to Rita about it when they spoke again. It would be weird if she wanted him back and they did get back together but didn't know he wasn't entirely honest about his relationship with Lila. But isn't Rita's mom freaky? What was up with that expression after she hugged her daughter? Does she secretly love to see Rita miserable and dependent on her? What sort of secrets does this woman have? I want to know!!

OMG, and Doakes is back on Dexter's case! While it worries me, it also excites me because I love to see Doakes getting up in Dex's face and insulting him and Dexter finally responding. He's so paranoid and suspicious, and I love him.

I also loved the fact that Lundy wanted Dex to work with the task force just so Masuka doesn't (and doesn't it just figure that Masuka is the station's fire captain? ;-)). And isn't Lundy wonderfully quirky? Animal crackers during an interrogation, always taking lunch at 1pm no matter where he is. And Deb wanting his approval and to be his go-to gal, I think is pretty adorable. And what a cute hug they had! I also like Deb's children's book writer boyfriend. I didn't care for him at first, but he seems very understanding and perceptive.

And Dexter really needs to find himself. While this arc is understandable and I do like it, I hope they wrap it up this season. I want Dexter to find a balance, but it's going to be hard for him to continue to work with Harry's Code knowing what he now knows about Harry. And will the temptation to kill just because he likes it (like he did to Prison Break's Haywire this week), rather than killing two birds with one stone, as it were, be too strong? I guess we'll find out! ;-)

ncis, dexter
