So, there are probably a million things to post about, but I will refrain. I have a million letters I am going to write, so I'm saving my ideas!
But, as staying true to what I said I'd do, I'm posting what books I've read recently.
The Communist Manifesto by Friedrich Engels and Karl Marx
This was kind of dry. For reference, I am not a communist, I was just interested in reading this. I probably won't ever read it again, but I can say that I have.
Symposium by Plato
This was bloody brilliant. I would recommend anyone read it. It's basically about a bunch of philosophers that have a dinner party and end up discussing love. They take turns going around the table, praising both the god Eros (love) and the concept of eros. It was surprisingly entertaining to read. I thought it would be a lot more difficult to struggle through given how old it is and everything, but you will be surprised by how quickly you will read this book.
Fairy Tales by Hans Christian Anderson (translated by Tiina Nunnally)
Okay, to be honest, I'm not completely finished this one... I read a story every now and then when I am eating, don't have time to read anything else or am tired of the heavy literature. These are awesome. You HAVE to read them. They are so easy to read, it's ridiculous. I mean, c'mon, they're children's stories. I can't say I have a favourite... Although, everyone should read "The Little Mermaid". It's very different from the Disney adaptation. It's surprisingly optimistic, given that she has to choose between killing her true love or dying and turning into sea foam, loosing her chance at an immortal soul. Happy, I know. Anyways... Read this!
