But Satoshi is strong-minded, especially without the Hinamizawa syndrome. For aboy on his first week in Mayfield, he adapted remarkably well, managing to smile and laugh his way through school. But he took to walking through the park after class. It was soothing, somehow. Reminded him of home.
...Though if he was being completely honest, it was...nice, in a way. Nice to not have to return home to an ill-tempered aunt and a weeping sister. Nice to come home to some people who smiled rather than looked upon him like he was the cause of everything wrong with the world.
It's on one of these walks that Satoshi comes across Charlie, sitting and reading. He stops nearby, awkwardly shifting from foot to foot. He's a shy boy, but he's a friendly sort who loves books. Maybe that's what prompts him to respond.]
