Movies I’ve Seen in 2013

Mar 01, 2013 23:44

I watch a lot of movies and TV series, so this year (as of January 1, 2013) I’m going to write down the ones I watch so that I can remember come December! If you’re interested in seeing any of them, I can certainly share my thoughts. :)

Cut because I’m probably the only one who cares! )

Oh, cool, love this! I do enjoy seeing what other people are watching (and reading) *g*

I don't remember talking to you about Les Mis? What did you think? And I know there's been some controversy over Django Unchained, but the consensus seems to be it's very good. Not quite sure I'm enthused enough to see it, but would be keen to hear your opinion as well.

Django--Okay, well, I really quite like Quentin Tarrantino's movies. My favorite is Inglorious Basterds, which I loved so much, but I also like the Kill Bill series. Most of his movies have a particular/peculiar style with lots of violence, surprising character development that isn't afraid to venture into darker sides (even of female characters), interesting use of music, and a labeling of the film into different sections. The way his films portray female characters in particular always strikes me as progressive and impressive.

In Django, though, his particular style wasn't on display as much, and the story was a very male-centric one (save the damsel in distress and get revenge using violence). The morality spectrum was also much less complex that I'm used to with his movies (each character seemed to be on one extreme or another), and the tone seemed off for a film depicting one of the most brutal and horrific institutions in U.S. history. So I left feeling like it was a good movie telling a story I had seen before, and there wasn' ( ... )

Oh, that's good to hear that it's grown on you as well! :)

I watch a lot of stuff and am always forgetting what I saw and when, so I figured I'd keep a list this year. :)

I LOVE Django Unchained! (Actually I love Dr. King Schultz and pretty looking coat!) And OMG I love Les Misérables too! I thought I’m a Cyborg, but that’s OK is cute but pretty typical for a South Korean rom coms. For South Korean rom coms, nothing beats My Sassy Girl and My Tutor Friend... oh, and 100 Days with Mr. Arrogant. Sure, they have cliche storylines but the chemistry between if main female lead and the male lead is just too cute and genuine to ignore :D Thirst is good enough for a Korean horror/thriller/dark comedy movie but I've seen better ones.

Yay! You should! Add this one to your list too: Running Man. It's a Korean reality tv show thing and it's hilarious, plus super fun and cute! To be honest, it's the funniest show I've ever seen and so very addictive!

Sweet, thanks! I've seen episodes of that when my favorite idols are in it (like when DBSK was on, and some clips from when SHINee was on), and it was so funny!
