- Ain't No Friend of Mine by tkp
Harry/Draco. Draco’s turned into a dog by a not-Dementor (you’ll see what I mean) and after much drama Harry adopts him. A brilliant story ensues. One of the most insightful character studies of both Draco and Harry, and quite funny and sweet to boot! I especially loved Draco's sarcastic narration; it's just perfect. - All Chance of Valor by iniq
Harry/Draco, Others/Draco, dark non-con. Author’s summary: Harry loves Draco. His fantasy might get in the way of Draco loving him back, though. So Harry has this fantasy of raping Draco, who is his lover, and when combined with the Obliviate spell, it gets a little out-of-control. Oh my God, this was so deliciously fucked up. You really grasp how horrifying the Obliviate spell can be when in the hands of someone as magically powerful as Harry. The way Harry uses his magic against Draco (who is magically weaker) I think is the creepiest and best part of this. And Harry’s spiral into utter evil is convincing and terrifying. My favorite part, though, was Draco’s characterization, thinking something must be wrong with him. Great commentary on rape culture. - And I Know the Spark (15,639 words) by firethesound
Harry/Draco. Author’s summary: All Draco cares about is keeping Potter alive, and he’ll do whatever it takes to make sure that happens. Wow, this one was brilliant. An AU in which Harry and Draco are a couple, but Draco joins the Death Eaters as a spy-without Harry’s knowledge. In fact, he manipulates events so that Harry will not know or care what Draco’s up to. I adore Draco’s characterization here: terrified, with a self-professed weak stomach, a terrible Death Eater...but oh so determined to keep his ex-lover alive. *happy sigh* Warnings for Death Eater-style nastiness, murder, torture, forced dub-con. - The Arc of the Pendulum by brummell
Harry/Draco, retelling of Beauty and the Beast, HP-style. Lucius makes Harry into a reverse-werewolf, and Draco deals with the consequences. I loved Brummel's Draco especially, and he grows in such a beautiful and convincing way. Quote: Harry Potter can't keep house elves because he might eat them. Best line ever. - At Your Service by faithwood
Harry/Draco. Author’s summary: Hogwarts students are in danger; Harry is determined to save them all. There's only one thing he knows for certain: Draco Malfoy is somehow involved. This story is epic, reading like a partial Eighth Year in canon, complete with tongue-in-cheek chapter titles-but for its impressive length, it reads very quickly. I had no trouble inhaling it in one sitting. The characterizations are lovely and in-character: Harry gets going on his little speeches and then stops and realizes he’s been yelling for some time and his “saving people thing” becomes more of a fetish. And Draco’s guilt and self-recrimination is actually a plot point. I enjoyed the little details that made this really come alive, things from canon that the author expanded upon and presented in a new light-Hermione’s knitting a sweater for Mrs. Weasley, for example, or Draco being concerned about Harry becoming master of Draco’s wand again or Lavender’s heightened sense of smell. And Ron…just, everything Ron does in this story is wonderful. The plot is delightfully intricate, with mysteries stacked upon each other, and it really kept me guessing. - The Best Gift by crimson_stained
Harry/Draco. I’m a total sucker for down-on-his-luck Draco, and this was a beautifully original take on the idea. He’s certainly poor and thin and working two jobs, but he’s not unhappy. Very sweet Christmas tale. Also, Ron here was hilarious! “I’m not third-wheeling on your creepy non-date with Malfoy.” Haha, exactly. - Bond by annafugazzi
Draco/Harry. A very, very well done take on an old cliché. Just have to say right off the bat that drunk!Draco/Harry was the funniest thing I've read in a long time. Both Harry and Draco are ridiculously in character throughout the whole experience, which was great to read. Anna Fugazzi has a great grasp on all the politics and maneuvering it takes to survive in a Slytherin world. But at the same time how Draco does have real friends there who try to protect him if they can. There are some funny running gags here, too, like Draco's constantly lost tie. Harry's and Draco's first sex scene is a scene not to be missed, with Draco suddenly panicking at the last minute but Harry working him through it. Anna Fugazzi places a lot of emphasis on Quidditch, which I always like to see, and has a few “Seeker’s Games.” And of course the magic, especially of the bond, is phenomenal. This was a great, very slow-building and so in-character Harry/Draco romance with lots of great plot that I loved! - But I Have a Penis by florahart
Harry/Draco, mpreg. This one is just hilarious and has both Harry and Draco pregnant because of a Parseltongue accident. Yes, double mpreg-does it get any better?! They bond over funny things. The little bickering notes they send each other back and forth because it wouldn't do to meet, for Merlin's sake, are the best part of this story. Quote: Harry slipped an arm around Draco's back and helped him up, then with a glance at each other, they headed for the toilet. It's superb. - Cerulean Blue by scrtkpr and annafugazzi
Harry/Draco, with a side of Harry/Draco/Severus. A very compelling, very well-written piece where Potions Master Draco has a potions accident that causes him to lose four years of his memory. DADA professor Harry has to use Legilimency to fix him, and discovers some interesting surprises. Snape and Harry and Draco are older and more mature than we're used to, but still delightfully in character, and this piece is fun and sexy. - Chaos Theory (102,711 words) by tessacrowley
Draco/Harry. This epic story is a retelling of canon, except that Draco is a Ravenclaw genius. It’s so fascinating to see what changes and what stays the same, and how Draco and Harry’s relationship progresses. But what’s most enthralling here is Draco’s intellect, how quickly he figures out elements that trapped Harry in canon, which leads to other problems, and how this makes Draco protective of Harry. Elements of this fantastic story reminded me of other amazing stories, like Earthbound Spook (in which Draco is a Gryffindor instead), Railway Lands (Draco coping poorly with being forced to work for Voldemort), and even the epic Saving Connor series (the clever solutions to canon problems and Draco and Harry being friends from childhood). - Completely Abnormal by Ociwen
Harry/Draco. I love everything Ociwen has written, but this one has its own particular charm that makes me re-read it time and again. Draco is working as a janitor in the Ministry, mopping up footprints, and Harry notices when he doesn't come to work one day. It's the beautiful, effortless details that make this story: the weather, the snow in Draco's flat, the takeaway boxes, the connection between Draco and Tonks. Augur's Flu is one of the most hilarious and seemingly canon illnesses I've ever read about (“Doom!”). Ociwen is brilliant at melding the magical and Muggle worlds, and pulls it off flawlessly here. Quote: And the coffee machine was down due to a Boggart hiding in the cup dispenser. "Typical," he grumbled, walking away with his sickles jangling in the pockets of his robes. - The Completely Cracktastic MPREG Fic The Moste Potente Swore She'd Never Write by themostepotente
Harry/Draco, Severus/Sirius. Draco and Severus are pregnant. Let the crack begin. Hilarious little piece that had me gasping with laughter. - Crup-tion of the Not-So-Innocent by calanthe_fics
Harry/Draco, Animagus fic. I've seen this one compared with tkp's “Ain't No Friend of Mine” in that both feature dog Animagus forms, and I think the comparison is apt. They're both quite funny and playful (making me cry laughing) while also being unexpectedly deep, and the characterization, especially of Draco, is spot-on brilliant. Draco is exactly canon, very revealing in his loneliness and despair but also his joy in the Crup. And his fear of rejection-oooh, I'm shivering, it's so perfect. I love his vulnerability; it's entirely in-character. I'm also totally in love with Harry here. I haven't read that many fics that begin right where Deathly Hallows left off, and Calanthe does it very believably and effectively. I love Harry's revealing inner monologue, as with here: “The more Malfoy laughed the more Harry came to realise that what he was doing was a bit shitty,” and the HILARIOUS “Dear god, if you exist in any way please let Malfoy want to suck me off. I lived in a cupboard for years and have spent my teenage years being hunted by a madman and his sociopathic followers. I really think I deserve a blow job for the hardships.” This was just a joy to read. - A Cure for Waking by darkasphodel
Harry/Draco, non-con, very dark, dark!Harry. Harry has defeated Voldemort and has Draco chained to the wall of the Potions classroom. This story is fascinating, twisted and insane and yet-strangely logical at the same time in the way Harry tries to reason with himself and with what he imagines of Draco. I loved Draco's line, how much he sounds like Dumbledore and how he's trying to save Harry even after all that's been done to him. Quote: Grindelwald was a murderer. Dumbledore killed Grindelwald. Snape killed Dumbledore. Voldemort killed Snape. Harry killed Voldemort. He wonders who will take his place in the chain. God...that's so true. I won't forget this one. - Coming to Terms by rurounihime
Harry/Draco, mpreg. This is not a happy tale (at first). It’s painful and uncertain and almost nasty at times. But my God is it beautiful. I love that money is an issue for both Harry and Draco here. They’re working the very dangerous and underpaid jobs of Cursebreakers, and getting stuck with paperwork is actually seen as a good thing. But Draco has to quit when he starts showing. I love how they fight about every.goddamn.thing, from the baby’s name to Draco contacting his parents to Draco’s sleeping position. In addition, this is a fascinating exploration of not only the problems associated with maternity leave but also father’s rights with the abortion issue. Harry feels like he’s “painting himself a fantasy of control.” This fic reminds me exactly why I love mpreg so much; Rurounihime just gets it. Quote: “She’ll be alright,” he whispered. Draco’s face did a strange sort of shiver, and Harry’s heart ricocheted in his chest. It was the first time he’d ever seen the depths of Draco’s worry, and they were deep. - Danse Russe or here, by frayach_nicuill
Harry/Draco. Draco is willing to do anything-anything-to save Harry. I'm not sure I 100% believe in the Harry and Draco in this fic as so utterly in love and rather more grown up from their canon selves, but there is no way you can miss this fic. You must read it; this is publishable. The way Frayach describes Splinching organs hit me particularly hard as something that isn't done nearly enough or this well in fandom. The details and descriptions of Russia (drinking vodka from styrofoam cups) are fantastic, as is the Russian royal family (I wasn't ever sure if they were reincarnations from 1917 or what, but it doesn't matter). Russia is pretty much a character here. The character of Alyosha in particular will break your heart. And Draco, God, Draco is lovely here. There is no perfect good; there is no perfect evil. Quote from Harry: “I understood how a pearl must feel, ripped brutally from its cosy resting place by the oyster shucker's uncaring hands. Pearls belong nestled beside their oysters, not strung around some lady's neck. Just like I belong nestled beside Draco, not gallivanting all over fuck and back looking for Dark wizards...I'll have to remember that analogy and tell it to Draco...Especially since his metaphorical counterpart is a slimy mollusk.” - Don’t Call Me Back by rurounihime
Harry/Draco, zombie!AU. Attention, readers: HP fandom now has zombie!fic, and it is badass. This was seriously incredible. The author has somehow taken the zombie apocalypse situation and made it entirely plausible in HP canon-of COURSE Voldemort would do this, and of course it would turn out this way. And this was right up my kink alley, too: beautiful, in-character Draco, the hurt/comfort situation, action and violence and lots of delicious plot. I enjoyed this so much and really would like more! Quote: Something grabs his ankle. Harry kicks instinctively and gets himself loose, but the fingers are back, tearing at the leg of his trousers, twisting and squeezing. He hears an inhuman hiss just behind him, and then one of the doors crashes to the ground. Blinding white; Harry sees sparks, darkness, then Draco Malfoy, wand in one hand, a broken length of metal in the other. - Draco at Nineteen (5000 words) by birdsofshore
Harry/Draco. Author’s summary: It’s the middle of the night and Harry Potter is sitting on my bed looking distinctly weird. I've had some fucked-up dreams in my time, but this takes the biscuit. This is a sweet little Eighth-Year story that very creatively features a Time-Turner. I love the role Harry plays in Draco’s life here, bringing him hope when he needs it most. And it’s very hot! - Draco Malfoy, It's Your Lucky Day by faithwood
Harry/Draco. It’s amazing what a little Felix Felicis can do. I loved the magic in this story, the Felix Felicis, the Jobberknolls, the hidden cabin, the hidden Potions storeroom, the blue glow of the Locator Charm…The sex was so hot, and I really liked the details, like how Draco tries his hardest to prove to Harry that it’s not a dream, how Draco’s concerned Harry won’t want to kiss him after rimming, how convinced Draco is that he’s going to Azkaban and keeps Harry’s glasses. Also, how clever with Nott! And Borage! And Pansy’s and Draco’s relationship! This story is love. - Draco, the Magic Dragon by Sansa
Harry/Draco. Draco's down on his luck (because I love fics like that) and working at a sleazy fairgrounds as a magician. His wand's been snapped, but he uses wandless magic that gives him horrible headaches. Then there's a pseudo-detective plotline and Luna! Very sweet, sadly believable story too, but what did you expect from Sansa? Also check out her fun, plotty novel-length wartime hurt-comfort fic Betrayal Can Only Happen if You Love, with Draco/Sirius, Harry/Severus. I felt the Draco/Sirius was a bit rushed, but the use of the veil was creative and it's worth reading if you like Draco-centric fics. - Earthbound Spook by cest-what
Harry/Draco. Author’s summary: Harry has no reason to like or trust Draco Malfoy. The fact that Malfoy has already died once shouldn't change that. This is a “[d]imension crossing AU.” What a premise, right? In this reality, Draco dies in a Death Eater raid, and Harry does nothing to stop it. Then suddenly another bed shows up randomly in Gryffindor, with another Draco Malfoy to sleep in it…I usually don’t go much for alternate-reality scenarios, but this one was damn good, so good it can be compared to canon in its humor, delightful details, awesome plot, and especially characterizations. I fell hard for Gryffindor!Draco, something I’d never, ever thought possible but that the author sells really well. Draco’s feelings about suddenly being dumped into this new reality, written from an initially unsympathetic and suspicious Harry’s perspective, were really moving, especially when we see the Pensieve memories they choose to share with each other. But what I really appreciated was the author’s dedication to writing solid, convincing trio characterizations: this is one of those fics, similar to mad-martha’s writing, where Ron really shines, and it’s gorgeous. But Hermione, Ginny (as Quidditch captain! Awesome!), Pansy, Crabbe, Goyle, Narcissa, McGonagall-even Sinistra, wtf?-and of course Harry are all written with care and sympathy, not to mention a great eye for canon. And that doesn’t even cover the plot, which is awesome! - The Empty House by hollycomb
Harry/Draco. I started squeeing about the same time that Draco enters this Goldilocks-like premise because he and Harry are so goddamn in character that it leaves me breathless. Hopeless and bleeding to death, Harry stumbles upon a cottage owned by the Malfoy family. Draco finds him. This is one of the best Draco characterizations I’ve ever read, though Harry’s also excellent, especially the perfect descriptions of his injuries and his stealing Draco’s food because that’s the only way he can be sure it’s not poisoned. Draco is cowardly and fearful and desperate and angry, petulant, sad, tired, and just a little bit naïve. It’s quite a treat. Oh, and here’s a great passage: “Draco puts the tip of his wand against Harry's neck. "Avada Kedavra," he says lightly, nowhere close to meaning it. Nothing happens.” - The Eloquence of Mortality by fleshdress
Harry/Draco. Oh my God. Oh my God. I loved this so much. I read it three times in succession. This is brilliant. Read it now. Author's summary: “White masks, prison cells, and dubious deals.” Which, yeah, sums it up nicely, and I can't say anymore without spoiling this treat. - Extracurricular: a Parody and its sequel Extracurricular: Mock Two by ivyblossom
Harry/Draco, extreme crack, and an absolutely hilarious fic. Unless Harry and Draco agree to have sex, and lots of it, the world will explode, Snape will be found out as a spy, Voldemort will kill Lucius, there will be wars in Africa, and (worst of all) Snape will not wash his hair. Harry and Draco find that they don’t mind too much. In the sequel, there are references to mpreg, and it’s really, really funny. - Fear and Loathing at the Phoenix by curiouslyfic
Harry/Draco. Harry and Draco travel to a Harry Potter convention. Oh dear God. Harry's a Quibbler journalist writing under the penname Regulus Black (“You had ‘Ministry fuckwits’ in the common vernacular inside of a month”). Draco's a lawyer known as Malfuck, terror of the courts, amongst his opponents. There's the lickey spot and Parselsmut and Herowhores and Draco repeatedly calls Harry Scarhead even though they're living together. Quite funny but also strangely deep and written in an easy to read voice. Basically Draco is the solution to writer's block. I love it. These characterizations are some of the most appealing in fandom. Quote (I picked one, but I could quote the whole fic): “Harry's set up nicely for a view of the Harry-on-Harry action on the main stage, which is a bit disturbing, really, he's never been that flexible, Draco'd best not be getting ideas. When he checks, he finds Draco tittering like he knows, and when Harry faffs a threatening hand, Draco fellates his drink.” - Fidelius by Constant Vigilance
Harry/Draco, with Draco/other non-con. Major warnings on this one for non-con, torture, nasty stuff. Okay, let me just say off the bat that I don't believe in this wickedly abusive Lucius as super loyal!Death Eater, I don't think Draco could ever be nearly this brave, and the entire scene is a tad ridiculous. This is almost definitely the most depraved and nasty torture/non-con fic I've ever read, if not the most disturbing. But! None of that stops me from enjoyig this scene. It's got a wicked little plot and a very appealing Draco, who has been made Secret Keeper for Harry's location. Draco is willing to do anything to prevent Lucius from finding out that information. I love how this story tests the limits of Veritaserum and I actually do quite like that the whole scene is done with a huge audience; let them all see how loyal Draco is. This is definitely the most dedicated and determined Draco you will ever discover in fanfic, so the story is worth reading just for that. And the ending is just really, really special. I'd do anything for a sequel. - Five Times Draco Malfoy Got Sacked (And One Time He Didn't) by emmagrant01
Harry/Draco. After the war, Draco keeps taking on menial jobs, then getting fired. Or rather, Harry keeps inadvertently getting him fired just by visiting. The fic is tightly written around this appealing premise, and it works like a charm. Granted, I adore down-on-his-luck!Draco, but what can I say? It makes sense, and people keep writing things like this that make me squee. I think my favorite part was this little section: But things had changed, and he knew they barely had enough to put food on the table. Mother had been talking about planting a vegetable garden over breakfast that morning, going on about the proper spells for encouraging plants to grow quickly. As far as Draco could tell, they were eating out of the pantry, and no one had bought food for weeks. The Malfoys, floundering, Narcissa trying to salvage the situation in any way she can without relying on her husband or son, thinking of planting vegetable gardens, as Draco goes to work in a coffee shop and Lucius says nothing. I buy it, and the author sells it beautifully. Also, there is postwar!Goyle. Quote: "I always told myself that if the whole Death Eater thing didn't turn out, I'd rather like to serve mediocre food and drink in a complete dive like this." - For the Public Good by blamebrampton
Harry/Draco and politics! This is probably the most British fic I’ve ever read, if that makes sense. After the war, everyone’s all well-adjusted and Auror Harry has to work with Communications officer Draco. Everyone’s possibly a bit too well adjusted, but that’s all right because this Harry is sweet and this Draco is delectable and charming and just makes you want to quote him. Oh, and nice cameos by Dudley, Lucius, Narcissa, and much of the British Parliament. Very funny fic, well worth the read. - A Fruit Tree in Winter by bryoneybrynn (fic at small_gardens )
Harry/Draco. This is a lovely story that reminds me of Hollycomb's “The Empty House.” Snape puts Draco in a safehouse under Fidelus after he's tortured, and later Harry joins him. It's the details that make the story here, like when Voldemort's wand is so close to Draco's face that he can feel it brush his eyelashes, how Draco makes himself a pathetic little birthday cake (reminds me of Philosopher's Stone a little). The mood in this story pre-Harry and post-Harry switches so quickly that it's just shocking, a lovely reminder of what Harry brings to a room (or a little cottage, in this case) and what an influence Harry has on Draco, the color Harry brings to his life. It was also very interesting that Harry develops a kind of claustrophobia, while Draco remains terrified of the outdoors. Draco's initial terror of emotional ties to Harry is a nice touch, too. He's fine with being fucked but not with Harry preparing him or caring. And Snape! Snape is great here, showing up only to shout at Harry or scold Draco (or, you know, to save their lives). Quote: As it turned out, if one was stuck in the middle of nowhere with only Harry Potter available to fuck, one could do a lot worse. - Harry Potter and the Inconvenient Condition by mirabellafic
Harry/Draco, NOT mpreg but vampires! Yeah, dear God, Mirabella wrote a fantastic vampire fic. And it’s hot. It’s really hot. Also, yay for the seductive vampire version of a mild Imperio. - Hexed! by Randominity
Harry/Draco, mpreg. This is a little charmer of a fic, sweet and funny and touching all at the same time. I'm in awe of how in-character everyone was, especially Draco and Snape and Dumbledore, and I love Harry here, too. I think my favorite line was in the second or third chapter where it was something like "We don't argue," Draco argued. I burst out laughing. The transition between Draco wanting an abortion, even if he had to risk his life, and being determined to keep the baby was fantastically written. And where he wanted to give up during childbirth-hilarious. If mpreg and slash were canon, I think it would go exactly like this. Lovely writing. Quote: "Stop holding your breath," Harry whispered to him. "Breathe out, Draco, breathe out." "Fuck you-you breathe out," Draco hissed back fiercely. - House Proud (23,112 words) by astolat
Harry/Draco. Author’s summary: His house liked Draco Malfoy more than him. This was soooo good. In this funny and deep story, in the aftermath of the war, Harry is amazed at the difference in Grimmauld Place when Draco visits, and together they go about setting the house right. I love all of the author’s ideas on old family magic and wizarding traditions. It’s brilliant how in the story wizarding houses have personalities and don’t like being treated like motels but like to have work and time and love put into them-that rings so true and is such a profound extension of canon. The writing is lovely and flows beautifully and is so amusing as well. And of course right at the center are Harry and Draco with a perfect slow-growing romance. - “I’d Rather Change Nappies Than Have My Cock Sucked” and Other Ravings of a Pregnant Wizard by frayach
Harry/Draco, fairly heavy mpreg. Author’s summary: After his pregnancy and the birth of Scorpius (who is Harry's and Draco's son), Draco has a hard time getting back into shape. Harry isn't helping with his awesome cooking skills and the delicious chocolate gifts. Also, he seems awfully keen on getting Draco pregnant again. That doesn’t quite convey how painful and lovely this story really is, the grace and thoughtfulness that the author uses to explore this weird thing we call mpreg. Draco's character is to die for. I love the huge mismatch between his inner monologue of what he thinks he looks like and how Harry sees him. I adore his instincts as a parent, and how he has to consciously tune them out in order to be able to do other things. And it was so wonderful how the author intertwined Draco's fear of losing his masculinity throughout the story. Also, Draco’s a professional Quidditch player! Isn’t that awesome? It’s not done enough. Read it! By the way: Part Two is here and Part Three is here, as the links aren’t clear on the site. - Inconsolable, or How Harry Potter Stopped H8ing and Learned to Love Video Games by novembersnow
Harry/Draco, epilogue-compliant. This is possibly the most hilarious fic I’ve ever read. Author’s summary: Harry Potter really sucks at video games. Draco Malfoy just sucks. Inspire you? - The Incredible Race by dysonrules
Harry/Draco. As a way to promote the new “tellywizion,” Auror partners Harry and Draco are forced to participate in a wizarding version of the Amazing Race. Hilarity ensues. To be honest, it took me a bit to get into this story and see what was uniquely Harry/Draco about it. But I did, and about a fourth of the way through I started to love it. God, the sexual tension in this one! And let me just say there is nothing funnier than drunk!Draco due to the vodka challenge. Quote: “…Do you have any questions?” “Did your mother pick out your shirt?” Malfoy asked. Harry clamped a hand over his partner's mouth. “Thank you. We'll just be...going now. Good night.” - Inexpert and Unexpected Things by amalin
Pre-Harry/Draco. AKA “Hug!Fic.” I totally loved this! It reads like the ideal first half of Deathly Hallows, if it had been written the way I wanted it. Fleur’s and Hermione’s reactions to first seeing Malfoy were so perfect, so in-character. Amalin really takes the time and effort to flush out Ron and Hermione’s (and everybody's!) characters, which is something so many authors neglect to do and that I really appreciated. Like how she compares Malfoy to Kreacher, a product of the world they live in. It’s so S.P.E.W.-ish! I also loved how Grimmauld Place attacks Malfoy, too, and Pansy’s role in the story. And even little details like Hermione knitting, Mrs. Black only wanting to talk to Draco, the prank warfare, Draco wearing Dudley’s clothes, the Draco-Ron drinking competition, and God, Draco’s speech (whining, haha)-everybody’s speech-sounds just like it was lifted from canon, but better. Fascinating, chilling description of Azkaban, too. I never wanted the story to stop. - Invisible to See by pandarus
Harry/Draco, Draco/Justin and it WORKS. Everybody recs this story, and there's a reason. This is the thing about ITS. It was written in 2003 but today reads like a perfect rendition of canon, with a few minor exceptions (like Lucius). It's like Fay predicted it, Draco taking the Mark but wanting out, Harry's characterization and conviction that Draco's up to something, Snape...and, God, Neville and Justin. Particularly Neville, who is fantastic here. There is a scene in which Neville, Justin, and Draco have detention together and discuss how damaging some pranks can be that I just absolutely love. I wanted a threesome between them soooo much-how's that for interhouse relations? Or just Neville/Draco. Also, possessive!Justin kissing Draco while watching Harry is perhaps the hottest thing EVER. Um, other than Harry washing Draco's hair, which is also the sexiest thing ever. I also loved the absolutely heartbreaking boggart prank scene, and for some reason I'm in love with the idea that Pomfrey's medicine mixes up Draco's taste buds. Click on the forward arrows to keep reading the story, which has 40 chapters. Quote: Draco would be the first to admit that he was not a born teacher. His approach to constructive criticism was influenced by Marcus Flint's leadership technique, and it mostly consisted of encouraging phrases like “That's crap,” and “Do it again, but better.” (Strangely, Neville didn't seem to mind this too much. “You were always like that with everybody,” he'd pointed out cheerfully. “Not just me. Everybody. Slytherins, Ravenclaws, purebloods, Muggleborn - everybody. Even Harry.”) - Just Another Recollection by mishaphappens
Harry/Draco, based on the premise of 50 First Dates. Harry and Draco have been together for three years, but Draco's short-term memory has been destroyed, so he doesn't remember; every day is a blank slate. I didn't expect to love this as much as I did, but the fact that made me fall in love is that Draco is so, so in character that it's breathtaking. The initial scene where Blaise and Hermione diagnose that it will be a bad day, his interactions with Ron, Pansy's role, and (of course) sweet, determined Harry make this a delight to read. The sex is really hot, and I liked the insight Draco gleans from how Harry handles him, going fast and hard because Harry knows, even if Draco doesn't, that Draco likes it. This was not only fun but also clever and profoundly moving. Quote: "Do you love me, Draco?" "Apparently," Draco replied gruffly, his cheeks heating up. Link is to Part 4, and the others are linked from there. - The Killing Moon by inkandfakefurs
Harry/Draco, WIP. Draco is a werewolf. It's been awhile since I've read something this exciting, this action-packed. (I really like that!) Snape here was lovely, taking care of Draco after Cruciatus. And Lucius' first response is that Draco is dressed like a deviant-wonderful! I can totally see it. The description of the Muggle hospital/surgery was very interesting, how Draco reacts with panic and horror, and it's something that isn't done nearly enough in fandom. I also like how Harry's subconscious sounds like Draco-and guh, their first kiss is hot! As are all the Draco/Greyback interactions. The idea that the Malfoys are cursed from having their daughters survive is also a very original one. Draco's pretty badass here, but also absolutely terrified out of his mind, which I think is entirely canon. Also, he calls his own werewolf “bad dog.” Which is hilarious. Quote that pretty much sums up the story: Draco was really starting to appreciate Potter’s presence in life-and-death situations. Unfortunately, this story is still a WIP (Work in Progress), with 20/25 chapters completed, but it's worth reading even if it's never finished. (Though I really hope that the author continues writing!) This is exactly the 7th year fic that I wish had been written. - Lamp in the Cooling Room by Sansa
Harry/Draco. Told from the perspective of a little girl as she, Draco, and Harry slowly become more and more dehydrated, stuck together in one of Lucius Malfoy’s traps. A scarily gorgeous story. - The Lodger by mad_martha
Harry/Draco. Draco's down on his luck. Harry's tired and apathetic. A mishap with the letting agency has Draco living as Harry's lodger, much to everyone's consternation. And guess what? They don't randomly start sleeping together; there's a very believable buildup. Much like I did in the brilliant H/R Auror series, I love Mad Martha's Harry, but Draco also shines here. As, predictably, does Ron; Mad Martha always does justice to Ron. They're wonderfully grown up here, but still broken, both dealing with the everyday stress of life, both unemployable for opposite reasons. The description of how Harry spends his days is one I read years ago and still remember vividly. I also love the idea of anti-Death Eater terrorists, which makes perfect sense. Oh, and did I mention that Mad Martha is a master at plot? - Love Is… by melusinahp
Harry/Draco, rather dark, dub-con, read the warnings. In a wickedly clever AU during the Horcrux hunt, Harry captures Pansy and Draco and keeps them prisoner for information in a little abandoned hut. I call this “rather dark,” because its H/D is the epitome of dubious consent, both chilling and hot, which I very much enjoy when done well. Ron and Hermione are handled really well, as are Pansy and-God, Draco is wonderful here. Meanwhile Harry becomes more and more unhinged…I also love how Slytherin’s locket, which Harry wears constantly, has a persona all its own. Quote: Malfoy's knees were drawn tightly to his chest. In a shaky voice, he said, "It's so cold. I can't sleep. We'll freeze to death." There wasn't even a slight edge to his voice. He was practically begging. Harry shifted on his feet, and the locket slid icily below his collarbone. - Luck of the Devil by melusinahp
Harry/Draco. Author’s summary: Draco never imagined he'd end up working in Rodolphus Lestrange's casino after the war, but fate has a twisted sense of humour. While the job has it perks, the downside is a bitch-especially when Roddy makes him an offer he can't refuse involving his old rival, Harry Potter. So Draco and Blaise (whose mother, Lorelei, by the way, is hysterical) are like floor managers/bouncers at Rodolphus Lestrange’s casino. Rodolphus and his brother Rastaban do their best to terrorize Draco with surprise attacks of Cruciatus, and it is gradually revealed why Draco has to work there. Meanwhile, Lucius is up to his old ways again, and Draco is still protecting him. This story has lots of parallels to sixth year, Draco cornered and desperate and forced to do something he doesn’t want to, but then it moves past that into new territory that shows how much he’s grown up. The premise is perfect, and the author is an absolute master at subtle Draco characterization. - The Mirror Crack’d by femmequixotic and noeon
Harry/Draco. Marcus Flint is found murdered at Harry and Draco’s bed and breakfast, and Arabella Figg is Miss Marple. A nicely twisty, compact murder mystery by two amazing authors. I loved it. Quote: I slam the door behind me, hard enough to shift a photograph of Harry and me in Paris that hangs on the wall. I straighten it, running my fingers across Harry's cheek as my photographic self frowns at me and pulls Harry closer. I've always been a possessive bastard. - The Misadventures of Draco Malfoy, Ferret by sabershadowkat
Harry/Draco ferret m-preg, but don’t run away! This is a fantastic fic, and you shouldn’t miss it! In my opinion, there is no way this can be termed “crack-fic,” despite the premise. It’s a very moving, slow-building romance with a completely understandable and yet mind-blowingly cute Draco. He’s still a very convincing Slytherin, too! I like how he seduces Harry best when he's not trying, though his seduction techniques had me nearly crying from laughter. Author’s summary is great: Snape turns Draco into a ferret for his own protection. He would've been safer with the Dark Lord. Link is to Part 16, and all the rest are linked to there.
