I knew that if I ever got up the courage to write this pairing, it would be all about slow development of feeling and gradual changes. Remus is so defensive, and Harry is so stubborn and determined to save him. I had to let Harry be there, and be stubborn and unmoving for so long that Remus got so used to having him there and forgot to protest about it. He started looking forward to his visits with anticipation, but never for a minute had the thought that maybe Harry was doing it because he loved him. Remus is so self-deprecating and values himself so little that the very idea of Harry falling in love with him would be something he'd consider preposterous... until it happened, that is. :)
I think any relationship between these two would be full of friction and a bit miserable, to begin with. Remus has gotten very used to pushing people away, and he'd redouble his efforts. Fortunately, Harry has never taken no for an answer, and is very pigheaded. I see Remus conceding more and more ground until he wakes up one morning and suddenly realises that Harry's effectively moved in, and has been making him 'morning-after' breakfast for nearly a month, and he hasn't even put up a hint of resistance.
