You did an excellent job here of catching the fine shadings of emotion. Augusta Longbottom and her fierce, though fair, reservations about Draco, Neville and his funely tuned sense of fair play, Draco and his twisting uncertainty about what sort of man he is. It would have been nice to see just a shade more of Narcissa - presumably she doesn't want to do any work herself, but just how much is it burning her to see Draco as a labourer? Or does she take it as her due that he will work menially to save her?

I think with Narcissa, it's more that she is completely untrained for any kind of employment. I doubt she's done a day's work in her whole life. No one would hire her, just like nobody would hire Draco. They're not just imperious, they're anathema.

I think she highly dislikes the idea of Draco working, but she's also not dense about their financial situation, or their standing in society. They need money, and they need to gain back some respectability.

In many ways, laying low and working hard in a menial role could be fabulous for Draco in the long run. He's assimilating, and that could keep him safe, even if Lucius' appeal falls through, or if Narcissa herself is charged with some kind of war crime. Nobody would argue against Neville as a good character witness should formal charges ever be pressed against Draco. He played a pivotal role in not only the Battle but in the resistance within the school itself. Draco putting himself under Neville's 'rule', so to speak, is a very clever, very Slytherin thing to do. It's a blow to ( ... )

I just read all 3 fic's, hope this is another wonderful series. Snarky Draco is still there but he's learning compassion and forgiveness is not given but earned. Nice to see that you're portraying him as someone who needs a new start and that he is making an effort.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked them!

I don't know that I'll write much more in this verse. I've written out all my current ideas, but I may have more in the future. :)

I rather thought that was the point,” Draco said. “Besides, I wasn’t going to let you win. I wasn’t going to let you break me.

Perfect. You know I'm not supposed to like him, right?
