Yup, good advice.

It's really strenuous. I did a first aid course a few years ago, and it's so damn draining...

I'm on a re-Fredding spree! I cannot be stopped! Feel free to mutilate your copy of DH if you so choose.

Fred and George clinging to each other was one of the first and strongest images I got when I thought of this bunny. In canon, George is sitting, utterly shocked, because it's impossible that his twin could be dead. In this, because Fred is injured, he can grasp it, and he's reacting with fear and distress.

Fred hitting on Hermione made me LOL! I giggled while I wrote that bit.

Oh, hooray! You finished it and posted it! That's so cool. I'm now feeling a little sniffly.

*squishes you*

If it helps, this one's more than likely going to have a little sequel at some point (because Fred and George require it).

Oh, the angst, how I love it!

Though aloud he was still grunting numbers, internally he heard names. Cedric, Sirius, Dumbledore, Mad Eye, Dobby...
Perfect... so like Harry to think like that!

“I carved ‘Chudley Rules’ on a desk in History of Magic, once,” Ron whispered, clearly terrified. “Do you think it...knows?”
Okay, this is brilliant and made me giggle in the middle of the battle/angst!

They passed a gibbering Draco Malfoy with barely a glance. He was tucked into an alcove, knees drawn up to his chest, a wand in his hand and a dead Death Eater at his feet.
I don't know whether to woop or feel sorry for him.

Seeing Snape's "Look... at... me" again is heartbreaking. It breaks my heart.

Oh my God, that scene with the twins in the great hall is possibly the most beautiful scene I've ever read. I can so clearly see it in my mind *wishes she could draw*

I probably should read more gen!

Harry was always one to count the dead, and take responsibility onto himself.

I tried to inject bits of humour! I didn't want this to be completely depressing because, after all, we get Fred back!

Draco was originally going to be dead, because the trio aren't there to save him, but that would have fucked too majorly with canon and created complications (ie. when Harry revives post-Kings Cross). Instead I had him best his attacker, but at a cost.

*clings to Fred and George*

This scene has totally replaced canon in my brain. I've blocked out the other one. *nods*

Don't you know? That is my evil plan. I will woo you into liking gen. I lure you in with the cookies slash, then hit you with the plottiness.

I was referred here by hpuckle, and I am so glad I was.
For one thing, killing Fred was mean. MEAN. So as this fic means he's alive, it was always going to be good. But in addition to that, you write so well. I love Fred when he's just woken up, regained consciousness or whatever, and Ron being worried about the desks was so in character for him and a lovely bit of light relief among all the nasty bodies and blood and angstiness.
Anyway, great fic. :)

Fred is alive! He's like Elvis. As long as enough of us in fandom believe it is so, canon holds no power. :)

I really wanted to lighten the mood, because the general outcome of this fic is a good one. Concussed!Fred was a joy to write. I not long read Richard Hammond's book, On The Edge, about his rocket car crash and subsequent brain injury, and for quite some time, he thought he was at a party, not at hospital at all. So I made Fred think he was at a pub with his twin, cruising for company. :)

And poor Ron...you've got to admit, those desks are scary! When Professor McGonagall enchants something to attack, she really means it!

For the win!

That's my favourite line, too, I think! I chuckled when I wrote it, and got kath_ballantyne to come and take a look. :)

And yay if you loved the angst! There was a lot of it.
