*tries not to cry*

This was just heartbreaking, but so good.

So, naturally, rather than fixing it, I went back and wrote the original fight instead. I'm sorry.
But... you are going to fix it right? *pouts*

Yes, all will be mended, once I get a bunny and work out how to do it. When I wrote Leaves, I didn't think beyond the scope of the drabble at the time. I didn't know what they fought about until today, when we were driving home from the shops, and I was listening closely to that song. It made me think about what might have got them to that point in the first place.

Oh wow. That was just so amazing! I loved it so much and then I went to read Leaves and I am with the majority.....

FixItFixItFixit!!!!

I hate that Ron is so insecure. I know that's him perfectly in character, but I just hate it, because he has so many qualities to be so proud of. I just wish JKR would have let him see that. All we got in the HP world was that tiny bit where Harry reassured him! We needed closure! We needed her to let us see him seeing that he was wonderful (if that makes sense)

Ron's insecurity is such a vital part of his character. It plays a counterpoint to his bad temper and sometimes callous and rude outspokenness. Without his self-deprecation, Ron would be brash, rude and completely unlikable. His lack of self-esteem gives him a fragility and an innocence, and combined with his loyalty...he's a whole person with faults, failings and great passion.

NOOOO!!!!

*huddles in corner, under down comforter*

"They'll be all right. They'll be all right..."

This is okay, this is good. There's gotta be a good reason for this, right? RIGHT? I do so love Ron, insecurities and all--and, of course it has to affect his relationship with Harry. And Harry, who might not be doing anything wrong necessarily, might be blind as to what Ron needs from time to time. That's Harry's fault--taking people for granted at times (hell, I do it too!) But I love these boys so very, very much.

As much as I wish it was always going to be Tea and Apples, that's just not realistic. Even people who love each other dearly hurt each other sometimes. And one thing I've really strived for in this series is realistic situations, behaviours and emotions. (And sex, of course!)

Then there's the fact that at heart, I'm an angst, not a fluff writer. I can't help but poke them with a stick when they look too happy.

You've summed up the dynamic between Ron and Harry very well. I don't think I have anything to add to that!
