Well hot DAMN!
Last week was a trip. Sunday and Monday, I spen the night at my grandmas house for the first time in while. yay. Tuesday night, Julie and I had some people over at her house to play Risk. That was fun.
Wednesday...the fun begins.
I wake up with Julie and go to her dentist with her because she is going to get her wisdom teeth pulled. All four. FUN! So I am in the waiting room for about 2 hours. That is all fine and dandy cuz it is nice and cool in there whereas outside it is blisteringly hot. Around 1:35ish, I hear a sickening crack come from the back room followed by a whimper. That was the fourth tooth being pulled, I think. It was icky to hear. So finally Julie comes out swollen and looking terrible. Poor girl was in sooooooo much pain. Then she did something I had not wanted her to do... She drove herself to her moms house. I have driven that car before, but as we all know, I am not liscensed so I was unable to drive her home. I'd have loved to, and I was fully prepared to take over the wheel if needed. I suggested that we pull over and call her mom to pick us up. That was to no avail, so we actualy drive all the way to her moms house. She lays on the couch and her mom won't even tell me where the damn ziplok bags are so I can make an ice pack for her daughter who was curled up on the couch bawling from the pain. fun. So I finally make an ice pack for her, and then I call th pharmacy at raleys cuz her mom doesnt want to. She has business to take care of cuz her hair was in curlers and needed to be taken down. fine by me. I call the pharmacy and then because her mom is taking too long to get ready, I grab her dads bike (which was her moms idea) and ride my ass to the store. I get them started on the perscription and then half way thru the waiting, her mom shows up, and bitches me out for taking the bike! WTF? Oh well. So I start riding back to Julie without her vicadin. I am about 120 yards from the house when her mom sees me and decides to speed on past. Oooo impressive. So fine. I wait outside and get a text from Julie saying that we a re getting a ride from her moom to her house. Yay. When we get there, Julie crashes, and the work really begins. I go and make the mashed potatoes and an ice pack for her. I was there, remaking ice packs every 2 hours or so. All night. Fun times yo. I slept on her floor so that she could have more room on the bed for her comfort. No problem. So to make a long story short...I waited on her hand and foot for three days, sleeping on her floor and jumping up to get whatever she needed regardless of what ungodly hour of the night it may have been.
In truth, that was one of the most difficult things I have ever done. I took care of her and made sure that she was as comfortable as possible for three straight days. It was hard, it was taxing, and in truth, I would do it all over again if I had to. It was among the most rewarding experiences of my life. I enjoyed every second of it. As hard as it was, I honestly loved it. Thanks Julie, ya stubborn girl, for letting me take care of ya!
