So, Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood. You DO realize how completely fucking psyched I am for this, right? A Sonic RPG? A Sonic RPG. Sadly, it is for the DS, so it's not like there will be grand amazing FFXIII graphics or anything. And so far I'm kinda 'wtf?' at some of the stuff I've read.
But still. It's just another reason for me to get a DS. There are about 20 billion GBA games I always wanted. And then add the about 50 billion DS games. (Hello? The OTHER Sonic games? Pokemon games? Phoenix Wright? Trauma Center? I could go on.) And, y'know, BioWare. I'm not sure if you CAN go wrong with BioWare at this rate. Big name. Hot titles.
(Plus, check out that name. The Dark Brotherhood. That's awesome. Makes me think Crystal Chronicals, tho, with the first bit. XD That game sucked so bad.) Villain = NiGHTS character wtf? Who knows. Big as a playable with a more developed personality is...a risky move. Or at least a strange one. But I whole-heartedly approve of Eggman going back to being an enemy not to fuck with (or at least a more credible villain). He's become a bit too soft. Character development only goes so far with a guy like him before you look at it all and go 'y'know, he's just a pansy'.
See, people think ever since Sonic went 3D, the entire franchise has gone downhill in a hurry. Okay, some games aren't that great, and some of the plots could use a little more kick, but let's face it. This franchise ain't going nowhere. Hear this: as long as there is a Mario Mario, there will be a Sonic the Hedgehog. And with a big name like BioWare and feeding into a very popular gaming genre, I'd almost be willing to say that this'll be a boost. It's FAR too early to tell, tho. Still, exciting stuff.
