Orionids Meteor Shower - Tonight

Oct 21, 2008 15:49

Who wants to watch the Orionids Meteor Shower with me tonight? It will be cold and the moon will wash out some of the weaker meteors but it should still be a decent show with the possibility of up to 10 or more an hour. There is another weaker shower still going on so you may still see more with that in consideration.

I still need to figure out a good place to go to watch with minimal light pollution. Since we will probably be outside of Columbus it will probably be in the high 20's low 30's so you will want to dress appropriately. Depending on the number of people showing up we can organize who brings hot cocoa/coffee/tea/whiskey to help warm the insides. Those who aren't concerned of personal space can bundle together and help warm our outsides. ;)

The shower should start being prominent around 2am and will go strong all the way through dawn. We can use my apartment as a gathering post before heading out and though it's small people are welcome top crash here afterwords, ,just remember to bring a sleeping bag and pillow. I have a decent couch, inflatable mattress(its a bit leaky) a couple chairs that are cushioned and can be pulled together, a blue chair and of course my futon and floor. The place is a bit of a mess but if you don't mind then I don't.

Message me here or call me, if you don't have my number you can ask, if you have me on facebook I have it listed there too.
