Looks like there's going to be a Blizzard here this weekend!
Apparently my area is near the central part of the upcoming winter storm that the news has been talking about lately. Supposed to get about 2 feet if not a bit more! We had no snow at all in December,and just a little sunshower of flurries once earlier in January. Tonight we got a light dusting of snow but that's unrelated to this storm.
No big deal here but in DC it somehow managed to back up traffic for hours because they didn't treat the roads at all. That worries me for how this weekend's storm is going to be if just a little bit does that. Friday morning and early afternoon won't have any precpitaton but by rush hour its supposed to begin. The overnight is when its a true blizzard,30-40MPH winds and 5-8inches of snow. Then it continues into Saturday.
My mom has to work both days so I certainly hope they close on Saturday,they are saying roads may be impassible then. She works at a Hallmark,which is a card store so I can't think of any reason why they just HAVE to be open during a snow storm. The news is saying there is a possibility that this will be a historic storm!
