Woo Bat pillow casing for
Super Potion Charity Raffle. Obviously, it's not quite a pillow, yet, but it's getting there. It was nice to spend the afternoon doing something creative, if a bit tedious.
And now: links!
So we all knew that Activision was
getting rid of Guitar Hero, right? Well,
helioshyperion told me (she said she read it in Game Informer, but I can't find the article) that the company is going to focus on developing military gaming peripherals, and you'll be able to trade in your music game peripherals for discounts. Which means people will be trading in guitars for guns.
How's that for a metaphor.
On the other side of that is the
graffiti at Chernobyl, where art is transforming a site of human destruction.
And then there's the
8 in 8 project, where Neil Gaiman, Amanda Palmer, Ben Folds, and Damien Kulash attempted to collectively write and record 8 songs in 8 hours. Cool project, or coolest project? I will be buying that record (for $1!), and you should, too.
I seem to have an art theme going, and I'm not sure if this next one breaks it. Stephanie Meyer is talking about
doing more Twilight books. I have some complex, nuanced opinions on Twilight and its success, but, for now, I will simply entreat you all to drop to your knees and pray this never happens.
To wash that out of your mouth, take a moment to
bask in the awesome that is Mark Sheppard.
Finally, you should know that the tiny little piece of me that might be a teensy bit Goth really wants
this necklace. Does that make me a Martian Dracula?
