~Prologue- Attraction

Apr 13, 2011 22:22

Title: Prologue- Attraction (1/?)
Rating: pg-13 but could end up R to NC-17 (depending on my comfort level)
Pairings: Thad/Blaine, one sided for the most part. Background Kurt/Blaine obviously (BECAUSE IT HAPPENED!!!)
Warnings/Spoilers: None for this part, but spoilers for all of season two so far will probably be making an appearance.
Word Count: 996
Summary: “I’m Thad. I’m a warbler, and my brother is on the council. You should really audition.” The words came out too quick and a little awkward sounding because Thad can’t take his eyes off the boy in front of him. The wet curls sticking to his forehead, and the way his shirt clings to his damp skin, he was the most gorgeous person Thad’s ever seen.
Disclaimer: This is someone else's playground, I just like to visit. Translation: I don't own, I don't make any money, so please don't sue.
Authors Note: A few things: First of all this story is brought to you by This awesome graphic and my overactive imagination when I saw it. Also, this isn't beta read. I did go over to the Glee beta comm, and send out a few PMs but I had no luck. Any mistakes are mine, and I apologize in advanced for them.

Thad tipped his head back under the spray letting the suds run out of his hair. He vaguely registered the next shower stall become occupied. As a boarder at Dalton he was more then used to semi-public showers by now. He was perfectly content finishing his shower and heading straight to bed until the humming started. Being in the warblers must have had some effect on him, because from the humming alone he could tell the boy was very talented. He rushed the rest of his shower dressing quickly. He decided to wait outside the bathroom, because waiting inside just felt creepy. Even from outside he could still hear the other boy, who after a few minutes was all out singing instead of humming. Not any single song, just a bunch of random lines from different songs.

“Hey, uh, “Thad fidgeted nervously as he called out to the other boy.

“Yea, can I help you with something?” The other boy answered, keeping his distance, and avoiding eye contact.

“I heard you singing,” Thad suddenly found his sock clad feet interesting. “It was really good.”

“Oh, that’s sort of embarrassing. I wasn’t even trying. I didn’t know anyone was even there.” Something in his voice was less defensive then before. The other boy finally met Thad’s eye. He’s never seen eyes that exact shade of light brown before.

“I’m Thad.

“Nick says that I have to invited by the council first.” His answer snapped Thad out of it. He recognized the other boy finally. He was Nick’s new roommate. He’d only just transferred earlier this week.

“Oh, like I said, my brother John is on the council. I’ll talk to him about it. We have coffee every morning about 7:30 in the commissary. You should meet us there.”

“Wow, Thanks. I’m Blaine Anderson by the way.” He said giving Thad a tentative smile. Just when Thad managed to beat his odd thoughts into submission he had to go and smile, breaking them free again.

“Thad Johnson.” He was pretty sure at this point that shaking hands would not help the state of his thoughts right now but it seemed rude not to so he extended a hand toward Blaine. Blaine’s hand wasn’t as soft as Thad thought, somehow he had callouses on the pads of his fingers.

“It’s nice to meet you. I don’t think we have any classes together though.” He looked deep in thought as though trying to remember seeing Thad before. “I do remember seeing you perform with the Warblers the other day in the senior commons though.”

“We do that a couple times a month. Everyone seems to enjoy the break.” It was getting late, but Thad could care less. He’d sacrifice a night’s sleep to keep talking. “John was singing lead on the first song.”

“I remember him. He was really good. That night I asked Nick about joining. He’s my roommate.”

“He did ask for an audition for a ‘friend’ the day after that performance. He was turned down because neither he, nor anyone had heard you sing. We are extremely strict with our rules and traditions.”

“Oh, maybe I should go ahead and tell you because I don’t want it to come up later.” Blaine didn’t keep the disappointment out of his eyes. “I’m not hiding anymore. I don’t know if your rules or traditions are against it, but I’m gay.”

“Oh-Oh, I’m sure there was at one time, you know how those things worked back in the day. It would sort of go against the no bullying policy now, but even if it didn’t we’d still be ok with it. We have one or two others that I’m aware of.” Thad hoped his smile was reassuring but honestly he was focusing on squashing those odd feelings again. He avoided thinking about what they might mean.

“Well, I have so much work to catch up on. I’ll see you around then?” Blaine finally put an end to the conversation.

“Yea, probably will.” Thad said clinching his jaw, subtly he hoped, to keep from offering to help the younger boy with his homework. Being in different grade levels they had to go completely separate ways to their designated wings.

Thad was suddenly more than glad his roommate was gone for a long weekend. His parents had taken him out of school to spend the weekend in Cincinnati with a sick grandparent. He leaned with his back against the door for several long seconds trying to piece his thoughts together in way that made sense. There was no way he was attracted to a guy, and holy shit was Blaine ever attractive. His eyes, his hands, and the way that stupid shirt clung to his damp skin. He clamped down on those thoughts before they could spiral out of control. He had a girlfriend for Christ’s sake, he reminded himself as he strode across the room to grab his phone off the nightstand.

He had three missed texts from Julie. She’s easily one of the prettiest girls at Crawford with strawberry blonde hair, and dark brown eyes. It only took two texts, the first apologizing for missing hers, and the second saying how much he missed her this week, and he found himself with a date to see her the next night along with their original on Saturday. He slid into bed with a heavy sigh, forcing himself to think of Julie until he fell asleep.
