(no subject)
So, I just met a silver tabby...
I was on my way back from VAPA, going around the barn by the big-ass hole... and there was this big Tom standing in the pathway. I slowly approached him, and (once he got over the first shock of noticing me) he let me come and pet him. Soon enough he was getting a little snuggly, and then suddenly started walking away... he'd walk a few feet, and then stop until I caught up with him. The entire way, he was rubbing up against things, marking them (scent glands on hips and sides of the head kind of marking) letting me pet him, rubbing up against my legs... occassionally he'd turn and hiss at me for (what I assumed was) scratching in the wrong spot.
He led me behind the new fire escape and hopped up on the wall next to a squirrel statue...where he stayed. He wasn't moving anymore, so I went over to pet him again, and he swatted my hand. Confused, I sat down next to him and didn't touch him again. After a little bit, a rabbit darted out from the enclosed area towards VAPA, and the tabby chased after it, giving up after a little while as it outran him. I walked over to him, and he rubbed against my legs again before leading me over to the porch of Admissions.
When we were around the corner, I finally looked at him and said "you know, you're really confusing. Do you like me, or do you hate me?" at which point the tabby rolled over and growled at me. I took that as a "don't like" and walked away.
I came back and washed the hand he swatted.
The things he showed me are now our little secret.
