Does anyone else feel like the endless expanse of boredom that is typical of the holidays also sucks all ability to be slightly amusing or imaginative? Imagine my imaginative capabilities as a grain of dust on an unvacuumed floor:

Grain of dust + vacuum = apparent lack of dust and fresh smell of recently vacuumed floor...or whatever else you might be vacuuming

Replace the grain of dust with my imaginative capabilities and the vacuum with the holidays and it pretty much has the same effect, even down the fresh smell that accompanies a freshly vacuumed floor. Along with the holidays imagination and humour consuming abilities, closely accompanied by an inappropriate sucking noise, when I'm bored I tend to shower twice a day. That or the fact that it has been fricken hot and you feel hot and grimy all day. Also the feeling of being doomed to a life of hotness and sweatyness follows quickly after each shower.

I think the holidays effects me in this way because it deprives me of the stimulation of fellow humans; mostly this is what sparks off my ideas and also my ability to be humorous.

Ah well, lets just say that I do indeed, eagerly await the return of both my humour and my imagination...until then I choose to immerse myself in others attempts at such things. I'm doing this by reading fantasy books, of which my mother has many that I have never bothered to read before, and some that I have. But I'm enjoying them all the same.
