I've come to observe a rather apparent trend in the relationship between my mother and brother. You see the trend, as it seems to go so far, is that they are most likely to have a usually explosive fight on a Wednesday night.
Once again, tonight my theory has been proven. You see, my brother is paid on a Wednesday and the moment he gets off work he is usually out buying weed and smokes, getting drunk and not coming home until the late hours of the night even though he still has to work the following morning. Mum gets anxious and stressed, he gets pissed off and frustrated and as a result, they fight.
I have come to expect it though. Each Wednesday night I feel a distinct tension in the house though, tonight I voiced my observation to my mother whom seemed not have realized the pattern. It rather depresses me the way the fight on a constant basis, but I've also come to realize that it is pretty much unavoidable. He WON’T do the right thing, and my mother WON’T back down. Until one or the other breaks down completely and gives in I doubt there will be an end to the regular routine that so far has been the undoing of their relationship, and also to an extent, the relationship between my mother and I.
