I can still write the twisted. Woot! :) Another coat of polish will probably go on this before I put it up on the flame tonight...  BUT, I'm heading out the door to kayak now!!!! YAY 45 degree weather!!!!!

I love that your story has magic woven into it. It was unexpected and a nice use of the prompt. Luminary as a weaver of dreams (or in this case, nightmares). How deliciously twisted.

The transition from past to present ideas was executed smoothly. You managed to flesh out Rene quite a bit, but I'm left wondering about Allen. I understand he's the "light" to Rene's "dark," but I feel he could be explored more in another piece. Or maybe this is just my way of asking you to write more. :)

Estrella is a strong female character, and I'd like to know her better as well. Good job!

Thank you very much! :)

I may flesh them out more in the future. We will see. The story inspired me more than the characters this week, I think. :) Have you ever read the Coldfire Trilogy by C.S. Friedman? Allen is like Andrys somewhat. Best way to describe him, I think.

Thanks again! We'll see if they come back to poke at my muses..

This needs to be set in New Orleans. All this French culture just needs a Southern twang to be the best darn thing.

'course, it's all right without that.

You know, you have a VERY good point! That would be perfection! Her little store was in no man's land in my head. New Orleans works wonderfully! Too bad I've never been there!

That's what Google Maps is for! It lets you zoom down right to street level, so you can actually see what it looks like without actually having to be there.

What an interesting world and a great idea about the power of dreams. I hope that Rene was destroyed when his control shattered, but I have a feeling that he wasn't. Do you have plans for more of this story?

Thanks! :)

I'm not certain yet. There is much more that could be written, but it will take the right muse to bring it out. I know what will happen, but in the sense of a story outline, nothing that would be interesting to read, yet.
