A couple of random rants
I have concluded that the people at Sony are a bunch of douchebags. First of all, let me say that as of right now I'm not trying to get my hands on a PS3. I almost never get new systems at launch, because everyone knows launch titles are always crappy and the good games don't come out til later. Of course, I probably WILL eventually get one... just not right now. I don't really see the point yet.
But this fact still burns me up for some reason. Why the hell does Sony always pull this limited availability shit? They did it with the PS2.... now they're doing it again. Seriously, it's just retarded. I guess they like to see people fighting in store lines. I know more people who are getting PS3's just so they can turn around and sell them on Ebay for 4 times the price than people who are actually getting them to play them! Good job Sony.
It seems like everyday now someone says something that sounds like it was meant to be funny, except I don't get it.... and I have to pause for a minute, and ask... "What the hell was that?" and then I am enlightened with "Dude, you don't listen to Dane Cook?". I'm seriously getting pretty tired of it, he is annoyingly overrated. I've seen his special on Comedy Central a few times, and I'm not gonna say that I didn't ever laugh... but I don't understand how he gets this reputation for being this comic genius or some shit. I'm not going to bother with the time honored practice of dissecting his humor piece by piece and exposing his formula because you can do that with anything... even stuff that I like. It just isn't my taste.... and I kinda can't wait for him to fade into obscurity.
I'm also getting tired of "origin" stories. How Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader, how Bruce Wayne became Batman, How Snake becomes Big Boss, How James Bond became..... James Bond.... UGH. Stop it, please! It's not that these never turn out to be GOOD (Batman Begins was a great movie, and I have to stop myself from humping the screen when I see the trailers for MGS portable ops) but it's just getting overdone! *sigh* I feel like very few storylines have the real meat and potatoes elements to them anymore. There's no new developments! Everything is just being redone and rewound. I guess this goes along with my prequel rants. Have I ever mentioned prequels piss me off? If you're gonna make a prequel, why didn't you just make that first fucking movie/book/game!?!? Do we now have to make prequels to the prequels, since they usually introduce new characters? Where are THEIR origin stories!? Why are they not worthy of them as well? The point I'm making you have to start somewhere! So just start somewhere, and move on from there, please! Not the other way around. Ugh. Sorry for the rant that I'm sure at least a few people will respectfully disagree with me on. Thats okay.
