Today, cancer/leukemia has taken yet another person. Someone very close to me, and very special: Nancy Fuqua
She had some problems earlier in June and was sent to M.D. Anderson in Houston, one of the best cancer doctors in the U.S., however, some medication that she was given did not react well with her, causing her blood to clot. This, intern, caused her to have a stroke. It damaged the left side of her brain paralyzing her on her right side and causing her to lose her ability to speak. Later that day she had 2-3 more strokes, which put her into a coma since Sunday. Then we got the phone call, that today, at 3:20 pm, she had passed away...
She was a bright and caring person, who always made me feel important and always thought I was smart, even when no one else did. She always supported me and believed in me and encouraged me to follow my dreams, no matter what anybody else thought. She was an important part of my life, and and important part of the Happy Hour Group, and in all honesty, is mostly what held them all together. She was the "peace-maker" so to speak.
I have never met another person in my life that understood me more than she did, and I will miss her dearly.
Nancy Fuqua, R.I.P.
