Returning of the Prodigal Computer

Oct 18, 2010 20:38

Insofar, the number of things that are really strange in my life: Many

Insofar, the number of things I wish to talk about: 3

1. OMG, I HAVE A COMPUTER AGAIN!!! I had to get a new one because apparently the my old laptop was pretty much damaged beyond reasonable repair. I am still rather annoyed at the whole process because ITS claimed that it was going to be really easy to fix... lies. But yes! Thanks to Amazon's 1-day shipping I was able to get my laptop just in time to start a 10 page paper due tomorrow as well as everything else that I have been procrastinating on in my life. I am still getting used to the quirks on this computer as I just got it today. The mousepad is driving me insane currently...

2. Strange things That Have Happened to Me lately (abridged version):

1. Helped build a device that can detect center of mass changes aka it was supposed to tell you warn you when you are about to fall off of a chair. Interesting experience!
2. Was on the radio
3. Pretty much stopped caring about my grades (oops)
4. Caught the dish towel on fire. My friend then proceeded to slap it with a tomato sauce laden spoon!
5. Drank too much wine. Btw: Barefoot's White Zinfandel is a really reasonably priced wine that is quite good.
6. Baked the most delicious Peanut Butter Cookies ever. It converted people to Peanut Butter-ism (definitely something I strongly believe in).
7. Read most of the Administration series by Manna. At first I really didn't like it, but I was still drawn in... and then I was intrigued by it. Finally, I acknowledged that it is an engaging and rather dark series that is horrifically addicting and not to be read while trying to study for exams.
8. STAR TREK BIG BANG!!!
9. I have fic somewhere on my hard drive that I really need to post. As soon as I get word back...

3. On a sparkly final point before the rest of my work consumes me, I leave with a lovely youtube video!
