Heroes Season Three

So there are a lot of things I should be doing other than talking about Heroes on livejournal, say, the project that's due tomorrow, but whatever.

I think it was a good episode. I don't like a lot of what happened in it, but it was a good episode. I was let down by the Sylar/Peter fight; I was really hoping we'd get to see that, not just Claire's POV from the other side of the door.

Speaking of Sylar. I actually really like him as a character, which is why I hope his transformation into Nathan doesn't stick. I mean, he's a serial killer and a complete ass most of the time, but this season really made me like him. At the end of the first season when he DIDN'T die, I was kind of disappointed, because I wasn't really sure what else they could do with the character. And if season two is anything to go by, the writers didn't really know either. Season three came around and I still didn't like him much. Then came Luke. Sylar and Luke's interactions were amazing to watch, especially in the end when Sylar didn't kill Luke like I was expecting him to.

Nathan's death didn't really phase me, probably a little bit because he's one of my least favorite characters. Also it seems to be a Heroes Season Finale Requirement that Nathan die or be horribly wounded. I'm not really looking forward to Peter finding out his brother's dead, though, because hello Major Angst. Angela's reaction jarred me out of the show, for some reason. Instead of thinking, "Oh that's a powerful reaction to finding your son dead with his throat slit." I thought, "I wonder how many times they did that take." and "She needs to enunciate better."

I'm disappointed they didn't have Molly around for much of the season. If memory serves she was only in one or two epsiodes. I liked her in season two, and considering how much Matt and Mohinder cared about her that season I was surprised she wasn't mentioned more. I was also sad at the loss of being able to tell people "Haha, Molly has two daddies."

Okay, Ali Larter is beautiful. She's a good actress and Nicki was a good character. But just let her die already! Triplets? Seriously?

The thing I was really sad about in the season finale was that IMDB listed Christopher Eccleston as coming back for this episode. I realize now that someone just saw the title of the finale and extrapolated from that that Claude was coming back, but I was sad at the lack of snarky British invisible dude in the episode. Claude has been my favorite character since he first showed up, and I think the show could really use his humor at the moment. How often do you come across a character who teaches flight by throwing his student off a 30 story building? It's like when Cordelia went into a coma in Angel season four and Joss Whedon said, "We need someone with humor." and brought Spike into the mix. Claude would do that for Heroes.

Peter loosing his power is something I hated in this season. I know they gave him a new, not-so-good one, but I still miss his old one. Being able to only have one power at a time is just not as cool as being able to have ALL of them at a time. And with his loss of the powers came the loss of Sylar's equal/better. I hate Arthur Petrelli if only for that.

Wow that was a lot longer than I intended for it to be. Off to do homework now. >_<
