Summary: The Enterprise picks up yet another man with god-like powers, though there's something different about this one.

Their first time, he doesn’t know who he is. No one knows; he’s just a man who has power - power that he has yet to find the limit to (and it says something that this is the fifth time they have been faced with such a situation on the Enterprise, though no one seems to be quite sure what it is).
During “Nick’s” stay in Sickbay while they put him through a battery of tests to find out what’s “wrong” with him, McCoy takes a shine to him; he sees in him another tired soul who’s lived too much and loved too much, jaded and tired before he’s hit middle age.
Even given the gravity of the events that follow, McCoy can’t help but feel a little humiliated when it becomes apparent just how much of that relationship had turned out to be projection and loneliness on his part.
Their first time is good - nothing earth shattering, but generally gentle and enjoyable. More importantly, it’s company, contact with another person on a level that McCoy’s been missing for a while these days. On a level that, though they don’t know it, Nick has never had at all. Afterward they lie next to one another and Nick smiles, fingers combing through Leonard’s hair.
But Lucifer doesn’t do love, isn’t interested in sex. And he certainly doesn’t care about Leonard McCoy; he’ll burn through him eventually, and in all probability long before he finds a way to get back to Sam Winchester.
