Her office didn't come with a window...

...so she made one herself.

"We don't have windows in my area. But, we do have double paned glass skylights. They had spare panels left over. I took two of them and leaned then against the corner of my office and put a potted tree behind it. So I can say, 'Hey, look at the pretty tree outside my window'."

She's an architect. I'd noticed her on the first day of class and pinned her the "family" member. Over the next weeks, she would slowly move closer to me in class...which is strange, considering most people pick a seat at the beginning of the semester and stick there. Today, she asked for a pen.

And just like that, I met Becky. She's tall. She's an analytical. But, artistic...which probably makes her an excellent architect. We chatted all through lecture...the time when I usually balance my checkbook...after class...she left first, but then hung out in the hallway...she waited to for me. We walked down the stairs...I can't even remember what we were talking about. But I do remember her saying, "So...I didn't introduce myself, I'm Becky by the way."
There I go again, always forgetting to ask the name. "I'm sorry, I'm Carrie..." we got to the parking lot and went out separate ways...

"See ya later, Carrie."

"Bye."

Who was it that said, if someone repeats your name, it's more intimate then if they just say, "goodbye," or "hi" or whatever? I don't recall, and I'm not sure if it's true...but I revel in the possibility.
