Wonder who put this together?

In all seriousness, they stole some graphics from the originator of the Wumpskate that I don't think would be happy about it.

I have no idea. I am not in any way associated with the group or the event.

Travis sent it to me over on Myspace.

Ye gods...are they serious? Is this a hoax?

I'm there. Period. I'll be off work at 8pm which is RIGHT next to an entrance onto I-70. And I haven't really got my skate on since I was a little 'un.

So here's the thing...do I dig out my old rollerblades that have not seen the light of day or do I go full-on old school and rent a set? I was definitely better at the 2x2 many years ago, but I had my own pair then and didn't have to deal with the potential fubar of rentals--but that was decades ago and doubtless I will fall on my sexy gothy ass whatever wheels I strap to my feet.

In conclusion, this is fabulous. Get your posteriors to Dayton, kids. I'm not missing goths-on-wheels for the world.

Skate rental is included in the admission price.

Heh. Then someone should bring a little o' the WD. Those old rental wheels used to stick on occasion.

i'm definitely there. the rink's less than five miles from my house. and i'll be bringing the brand new blades i got as a graduation gift to mahself. (shadow, you can beat my ass when i get there. :P)

QUESTION: do you think an elegant gothic lolita dress would be appropriate to wear..? let alone with a pair of red and black rollerblades?

Elegant gothlita works if and only if the wearer can acquit themselves successfully on skates. Elegant gothlita becomes source of massive amusement for attendees if found in pathetic crumpled pile on the rink.

As you own blades, I shall assume you have a clue what you're doing. But damn...blades...that's just not right yo. My inner Gen-X goth is cringing.

Seriously, if you can skate in blades, wear it.

oh, yes, i quite enjoy skating and definitely know what i'm doing when it comes to moving forward and going moderately fast (can't go backwards or stop quite well yet... i actually removed the brake because i like to take the corners really sharp so that i'm actually at a pretty sharp angle to the floor... it's fun. *g*).

don't know how crowded it will be however, so maneuverability in teh dress may become an issue. i may end up in a miniskirt instead, who knows?

heh. sry. i have no balance whatsoever when it comes to the two-by-twos. don't know why. *shrugs* i've tried them before numerous times and have always found rollerblades easier to balance on. and shadow already promised to beat my arse because of the blades.
