(no subject)
ugh!
heres the wierdest thing. i'm on solid ground yet, i feel like everything is rocking like i'm on a boat. i'm tired and my head hurts. what a vacation! so much fun, so much beautiful scenery. i had never been to the beach before and never saw the ocean, but i'm glad that i did. its just awesome. one day when we were out to sea and the sky was as clear as could be i wondered how hundreds of years ago someone could look at that i think they could cross it. i mean its a barren as can be. nothing in sight and yet someone said "Hey theres something on the other side of that nothingness, let's go find it!"
i told my wife that i wanted to see dolphins and eventually i did. it wasn't as dramatic as i had hoped but it was nice. they were just kinda hanging out and the ship passed right by them and they didn't even budge. about 10 minutes later as i was reading my book i heard some commotion and i looked up to see people pointing out the window. when i looked i saw water splashing. i thought maybe a whale had just lept out of the water and i just missed it. but then i realized the splash didn't go away. it was a water spot. a tornado on the water. it was awesome. about 200 ft above the water you could see the small funnel cloud. it lasted about 5 minutes and was very kewl.
i felt like just a goof yesterday flying home. if you've ever been the the carribean the really only sell 3 things; jewelry, perfume, and booze. my wife bought a ring and some ear rings. they were nice, and fairly cheap so why not. we bought some booze too. not alot. or least i didn't think we bought alot until we got to customs and they asked us how many bottles we had. 6. we bought 6 bottles a liquor?!?! well 3 were for other people and 3 were for us. i felt like a goof because all day yesterday i had walk around with a box with "Duty Free Liquors" printed all over it. so everyone knew what i was carrying.
i don't even want to think about how much i lost at BlackJack. i had a couple of good streaks, but they ended quick. some woman sitting next to me was talking about claiming her blessing from God and winning back all the money she lost at the slots the night before. she was piece of work!
i saw two people having sex in a hot tub. right in front of about 150 people. they didn't seem to mind that people were pointing at them and probably snapping pictures. later on the girl left the hot tub and was obivously drunk. the boat wasn't really rocking, but she was walking like it was.
the tv stations we got in our rooms were from New York city and the metropolis of Erie, Pa. The Erie station actually did weather forecasts for the carribean. another channel we got was TNT. all the movies would be in english and there wouldn't be any subtitles. but anytime there was text on a commercial or preview it would be in spanish. we'd get Boomerang sometimes too. they basically show classic cartoons. the wierd thing is all the cartoons were in english except one. i can't remember the name of it, but it was about some pig on a farm. it was redubbed in spanish. i was the only one of the dozens we watched that was in spanish.
i met a guy on the boat from Pittsburgh and we shared a mutual aquaintance.
i met a guy from Boston that was on his honeymoon trip, but the girl left him before they got married, so he went on the cruise anyways.
i saw lots of other things that i can't think of right now.
