I really dislike George W. Bush.
He tried to push the war to the back.
He did things--like, he asked for people to support the war, and then right after, he told people to support our troops. This meant people stood--for the troops. Not for his plan. But he did that on purpose. The people on MSNBC commented on it, too.
He said, "The country is trying a new strategy in Iraq, and I ask you to support it."
Wait a minute. The country is not. We elect people to do our will, isn't that what a democracy is supposed to do? For the people by the people blah blah blah?? And according to every poll everywhere, this new strategy, is NOT what the country wants. He can't say that. It is absolutely not true. HE is the one with the strategy, and a lot of people don't even consider it a real new strategy, anyway.
I agree that we should send more troops, but that we have to stop being so open-ended about it. Sending troops indefinitely=no good. Sending troops to achieve a specific goal in a specific amount of time=best way to fix things. If they can be fixed.
But I really, really disagree with what a lot of protesters are saying, that we should all write letters to congress to tell them to withhold money for the war. Because that can translate into not enough supplies for troops, and that would not be good.
Sigh.
I am so lazy. Addicted to TV, now, I think. I need to go do something.
