Supernatural Episode Review - 4x21 - When the Levee Breaks

May 07, 2009 21:17

Then: Sam’s a demon blood junkie. He’s gonna be evil. The end.

Now: Sam’s a demon blood junkie. He’s gonne be evil. The end.

Oh, and Dean’s making him detox. Intervention: 101. Sam’s desperate and pathetic and he’s deluding himself. Dean says he and Bobby will kill Lilith while Sam sits on the bench. Sam’s an angry demon-blood junkie puppy. Dean, the whole intervention thing is supposed to be all about how much you love the other person and that you want them to do with for themselves. I watch Intervention on A&E sometimes - it’s on before Paranormal State with hottie Ryan. *ahem*

When the Levee Breaks - wasn’t that an ER episode? Sam’s totally coming off of a serious high. *Snerk* I feel very foolish discussing his blood-high. Ugh. Fucking asshole - I thought you were DEAD and gone and weren’t going to be bothering me until you fucking invade my New Moon movie. I hate this guy. Have I mentioned that? I hope Sam’s hallucinating because oh good, he is. Dream something else Sam. LMAO - I’m sorry his theatrics here are just amusing to me. LMAO Bobby makes a hilarious joke about having a demon detox dictionary. Heeeee. Rufus is calling and Bobby doesn’t want to talk. However, Rufus has something important to say apparently. Next Sam hallucinates himself! Heee! Lil awesome Sam! Lil Sam wants an explanation because he thought they were gonna be normal. Ohhhhh lil Sam does make a good point here that Jessica wouldn’t be proud of what he’s become. Lil Sam also goes all Fred-yellow-eyed and creeeeeeeeeepy.

Apparently strange things are afoot in the world - 66 kids getting killed, blind fisherman, 10 species extinct - all in one day - all seals being broken. Bobby wonders where the angels are and if this is the best time to detox Sam. Dean doesn’t like this idea Bobby’s proposing - that they need/use Sam for the war.

Back in the iron maiden of detox, Sam’s now hallucinating water but can’t seem to make it over. OH MOMMY! With a huge hole or bloodstain or whatever. Sam suggests things she might thinkg, but Mommy’s all - atta boy! You’re brave and practical. Mary says Dean doesn’t understand - there are hard choices and you do what you have to do get the job done. Their family is cursed but you have the power to turn it into a gift - use it against them - for justice. Sam wonders if Dean’s right - that he’s crazy and shit and Mommy says that Dean is weak. Mommy? I don’t like you. WHAT?! She tells Sam to go on without him - to kill Lilith even if it kills him. Oh lord. She tells him not to let anyone or anything get in his way, not even Dean. Aw fuck.

Dean’s meeting HHH - or rather Cas finally showed up apparently. I guess His Holiness can’t tell Dean what was so important. Dean wonders if Sam can kill Lilith and stop the apocalypse. Cas says he’d have to drink like a bunch of blood shit and he’d become evil and a monster. HHH says they believe it’s Dean, not Sam that can kill Lilith. He wants him to stand up and accept his role - he’s the one to stop it. KISS! Seriously that’s how they’re looking at each other. Dean asks if he does this; that means Sam doesn’t have to. Cas is all like - yeah I guess if you want to look at it that way. Dean says he’s a dick. Dean agrees to give himself over wholly to God and his angels. It sounds like Dean’s becoming a priest - lol - seriously. Now what? You have sex with an angel! Or he waits. Shit, that’s not what I had planned - they are standing SO CLOSE. So yeah, Dean waits to be called on. Well that kinda bites - nothing like hurry up and wait, eh Hotness?

Sammy’s a little jumpy and now he’s going all Willow-black-veined and gonna like…raise a goddess or some shit. Bobby’s having some issues with Dean bending over for Castiel and Co. Dean’s all - dude - either trust angels or let Sam trust a demon - which is the better side of the pendulum? Then everything is too quiet and Sam’s being like tossed around the iron or some shit and he’s struggling and I dunno - they tie him down or something so he can’t…I don’t even know what the fuck was happening.

Once Sam’s awake, Dean asks why he did this. For revenge? For him and being in hell? He asks why Sam feels the need to do this when it’s not his fight. He says “God picked me man!” LMAO…or wait - so is Dean really in the room or not? Bobby says that twhat they’re doing isn’t working - they’re killing him. Now I’m really confused…is Bobby possessed? Dean’s willing to let Sam die as long as he’s human I guess. I don’t fucking know.

Fake Dean is tormenting Sam - calling him a monster - that he always was.

Real Dean says he’d die for him in a second but won’t let him do this to himself. He’s found his line - he won’t let him become a monster.

Fake Dean keeps being mean - not his brother - nothing to him. Aw Sammy - it’s not the real Dean. I SURE hope you know that.

Magically, Sammy’s free of cuffs and the door opens. I…what? Fucking Ruby? Did she do this? Sam goes out - NICE ass shot…WHAT?! FUCKING CASTIEL!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!

Oh my GOD I AM SO FUCKING CONFUSED! Sam sneaks out while Dean & Bobby sleep.

I…what?! No! I…NO! FUCKING HELL!

TRAITOR! Cas meets Anna and she’s all - dude - what he fuck!? He says he was ordered. Anna keeps asking why the hell…OH YOU FUCKING HOT TRAITOR! He lets Anna be taken too. YOU BASTARD ANGEL!

Sam’s trying to leave and Bobby catches him. Sam says Bobby won’t shoot him and keeps advancing and he’s right - Bobby won’t shoot him. Sam hits him with the gun and takes off - at least he doesn’t steal the Impala.

Castiel you are NOT on my good list right now - you can stay on the hot list for now, but DUDE - NOT FUCKING COOL.

Ya know, while the commercials are going here, I can’t help thinking this is more and more like Faust. I touched on this briefly earlier this season, but that’s SO what this seems like. Just playing with humanity here - and testing Dean and Sam I think. Fucking sucks. And that better not be what this is all for - some twisted cosmic bet. Assholes.

Dean and Bobby check out the iron maiden and Bobby thinks he had help - Ruby perhaps. Nope, wrong-o guys - it’s fucking Cas. Bobby says Sam will be impossible to find - he’s just strung out waiting in the motel for his blood supplier. And here she is! Sam questions how he got out of the room. Sam asks where the hell she’s been. She’s been digging up Lilith or some shit. I dunno. Sam feels betrayed by Dean. He says Dean doesn’t know him as well as he thinks he does. Ruby says it’s sucky that thing shave gotten this bad between them. JESUS. If even SHE says that and fucking Castiel doesn’t seem to care - I just…who the hell are you supposed to believe? Trust? Sam’s not interested in shit like that - he just wants blood.

Dean’s leaving to find Sam and…there’s really nothing of substance to say about that.

Ruby says his appetite is much bigger because he’s stronger. Ruby says only a few seals are left. Seal 66 has to be broken by Lucifer’s first. Lilith is…wait - what? Oh, ok - Lilith is the only one that can break the final seal. They head off to…find…I dunno what the fuck they’re going to find but there’s a hospital and talk about babies and I am so fucking confused. Oh - this demon they’re looking for is like Lilith’s personal chef and she eats babies - which I really have no idea what that has to do with ANYTHING, but ok.

Sam’s getting dressed and his hair’s evil slick-backed. Ruby says he needs more blood than Ruby can give him to bring down Lilith. Sam wishes Dean would trust him - he hopes that when it’s over they can fix things. Guess it depends how evil you get Sammy.

Bobby instructs Dean to bring Sam back, not push him away - to be good to him so they can get through. I’m not sure Dean’s buying what Bobby’s selling.

Dean’s found Sammy’s hide-a-way and goes after Ruby. Sam stops him and it starts. This is where it all starts. This is the beginning of the end.

Dean’s all - look what she did to you - they have a brotherly arguing moment. Sam implores Dean to listen - to do it together. Dean says ok - if Ruby’s gone but Sam can’t do that - he needs her to kill Lilith. Sam says he’s the only one that can do this. Dean’s all - dude - I’m the one. Jesus, I feel like I’m stuck in a Matrix-parallel universe. I’m the one. No, I’m the one. I’m Neo you bastard! Fuck off! I’m the one! The angel said so! So yes, Dean’s all - dude - angels told me this is my job. Sam starts the confession part of the argument where they air what they think is the other’s major problem is. “No, you can’t. You’re not strong enough. I’m being practical - doing what”…oh Mommy’s speech. Sam’s getting angry. Sam asks him to trust him because he’s done the same for him because he’s his brother. Dean says no. Jesus Christ. Boys! Your tears just…KILL me. Dean calls him a monster. Sam is scary. Oh fist. Fucking HELL. I CANNOT HANDLE THE BROTHERLY CRYING AND THE ADMISSIONS AND THE *HYPERVENTILATES*

Boys duke it out. OUCH. Dena’s head breaks the mirror…and the divider thing. And then Sam starts to choke him. SAM YOU EVIL BASTARD! WHAT ARE YOU DOING!? He lets go…but…JESUS. He says “You don’t know me. You never did and you never will.”

Well fuck you too Sam.

Oooooooooooooooooooooooh Dean. “You walk out that door, don’t you ever come back.”

JESUS FUCKING CHRIST.

*WEEPS* JOHN - look at your SONS. And the fucking boys love theme has to play then and NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you happy John? This is what you’ve left them with.

Next week: Armageddon. Or that might have been this week. *sigh*
