Happy November everyone! Another week has passed and the weather is chilling up. While people break out their scarves and gloves, the games on the gridiron become more crucial. It's the depths of midseason football!

Green Bay Packers at Buffalo Bills
Both of these squads have fallen out of contention, unless QB Brett and the Pack can make a huge run to the finish. At 3-4, it isn't impossible for Green Bay to reemerge. But the way the top teams are playing, it's highly improbably. Still, Favre and RB Ahman Green played like it was the 90s again for the Packers last week. Can they stifle the Bills in Buffalo? Hard to say, but one thing's for sure: Green Bay is one team that won't find this week's upstate NY weather unfamiliar.
Prediction: Green Bay Packers
Final Score:
Atlanta Falcons at Detroit Lions
QB Vick and the Falcons should soar over this starving Lions team.
Prediction: Atlanta Falcons
Final Score:
Houston Texans at New York Giants
I've heard this will be a 'classic trap game' for the Giants. That because of the Week 10 game against the Bears, in Giants Stadium, the Giants need to beware. I'll get to that in a minute. It's true they cannot overlook the Texans, because this game should be won. If the Giants emerge victorious this week, they'll take pressure off of themselves for the the Week 10 clash with Chicago. Reason being, who knows what will happen in that game? Just as with their season opener against the Colts, this is a home game for the Giants. You need to win as many home games as possible. However, as solid as the G-Men have been playing, the Bears will probably be favored. Which means this week's game, also at Giants Stadium, is certainly significant, because the Giants are heavy favorites.
But a true 'trap' game is one where you're coming off of a win against a tough team, playing a game against a weak team, and have another tough team the week after. The Giants are playing a weak team this week, and have a tough team next week, but last week's opponent [Tampa Bay] is not a tough team. So this isn't really a trap game. There isn't a sandwich effect here. Still, this is a game not to be overlooked. It would be foolish for the Giants to play flat this week, and kill the great momentum they've built up the past few weeks, right before a big game against the Bears. Having said all that, I think the Giants are fully aware of this.
Prediction: NY Giants [Suicide Pick*]
Final Score:
Dallas Cowboys at Washington Redskins
Dallas must win for their season to remain meaningful. But Washington has the fuel of divisional rivalry to give them all the reason to win they need. Whether they're capable of it is to be seen.
Prediction: Dallas Cowboys
Final Score:
Maimi Dolphins at Chicago Bears
Nick Saban, what has happened to your great coaching ability? Why have you taken the Dolphins to such depths of sloppy play and lack of attitude? And is Ricky Williams in your dreams? Honestly, it probably isn't Saban. The Ricky Williams dreams, on the other hand...
Prediction: Chicago Bears
Final Score:
Kansas City Chiefs at St. Louis Rams
Can LJ be stopped? The Rams have played well, but I'm not so sure they can. Also, KC QB Damon Huard has been playing very well.

Minnesota Vikings at San Francisco 49ers
Man, was I wrong about the Niners standing up to the Bears last week? Yeah, not making that mistake again. Now watch them win.

Week 9 Record:
2006 Season Record:
Suicide Pick Record: 8-1
-Teams Used [through Week 8]: Philadelphia, New Orleans, Baltimore, Indianapolis, Chicago, Denver, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh
*The suicide pick means I am picking the selected team as my lock to win for the week. I can't choose any team twice over the course of one season. I'll keep a separate record of these picks, but each one will also be counted in the overall record for the week, and season.
