Ramman.
The name spoke of arrogance and a sense of self-worth that was beyond all reason. She didn't care what name he considered himself, whether it was John Doe or Asheklon...if he hoped to gain her favor by intimidating her, he had something else coming. He insulted her and threatened her...making demands of her in the same breath he made promises.
"Were it my desire, I could render your magical arts useless Haalima, with a stake to the heart." He had said.
She had laughed at him to be fair, commenting back in return, "You would have one opportunity to attempt such, before your body lay crumpled at my feet, useless and broken."
Arrogant men! He was not nobility. How dare he treat her like she was common. His line had ruled a cow pasture, hers vast empires.
"I want you at my side Haalima, I want you to be loyal to me, to trust me, to need me. I want our lines to be combined and allied. We would be unstoppable."
And he claimed that it had been her that came to him. She would show him the true nature of real nobility. He would bend knee to HER before she would acknowledge him again. He had called her aloof and frigid. She would be certain not to disappoint.
