You bought a bike like that while you still don't even have a licence?
Lack of a licence implies lack of training and experience. I don't know what the rules for training are in your neck of the woods, but in any case I cannot highly enough recommend a thorough course of professional motorcycle training. I imagine that I'd be a dead puppy without it.
I'm not without experience. I rode motorcross bikes from the time I was tall enough to straddle one. I just have never riden or been licensed for a street bike. I'll be taking a training class and getting certified in the next month or three.

May she do so indeed! That IS a sweet ride - a real steel horse, and no doubt a fiery one for that matter. :)
Being wrapped from head to hoof in leather sounds good, too. I'm sure your mate'll enjoy that as well. ^^
Have fun with him! :) (And stay safe, too!)

Don't worry, I have a healthy respect for the dangers involved in riding and I don't plan on riding until I have all the proper gear I need.

It'll be a bit before I can ride. I don't have a license, helmet or anything.
