Kelly Green Legacy - Gen. 1.1

Jan 02, 2012 14:58

The goal: TRADITIONAL GAMEPLAY.  COMPLETE A LEGACY

The rules:
-Set the game to the fastest timespan.
25 Sim days, as follows (because I don’t have Generations):
Baby: 1 day, Toddler: 2 days, Child: 2 days,  Teen: 4 days,
Young Adult: 6 days, Adult: 6 days, Elder: 4+ days
-Cheat as little as possible.
-Get a job.  Find a mate.  MAKE BABIES.
-Continue.  (Select one heir, when they become adult, move out spares, heir must find spouse, produce babies, etc.)

I don’t have any same-sex pregnancy mods and don’t particularly want to download any (I don't want a core mod), so it’s going to have to be opposite-gender unions.  This actually bugs me a little bit, but I did say I wanted traditional gameplay, after all.  Adoption just seems besides the point of a legacy - it’s all about passing on the genes, isn’t it?  I may change this later on, we’ll see.

Anyway… ONWARD
(I apologize for the boringness of this update, but the first ones are always dull, aren’t they?)

Meet our founder!

I move Kelly into the Suburban Temple, because it's close to downtown.  I buy it unfurnished, though it doesn't leave her with very much cash.

Kelly is up for the challenge!

The interior is sparsely decorated, in true legacy style.  I allow Kelly a couple extra thousand to purchase the essentials, which I feel is reasonable.

The first thing is to head straight to the ghetto computer and find a profession. Kelly is going to be a ghost hunter, because I've never played that career path before (yes, I have been living under a rock).

Yawn.
Oh yeah, that's why I never do this...

The welcome committee is disappointing. A used car salesman, an old dude, and a lady who apparently doesn't understand the point of clothes. Still, I force Kelly out to go chat with them...

...until they all just take off, all of a sudden. The fuck?!

The quest for a mate must continue, and Kelly doesn't start work until tomorrow evening. I head to map view, and discover a Neighborhood Beach Grill-o-thon of some sort going on. When Kelly arrives, I am highly skeptical of the false advertizing.  The neighborhood is distinctly not in attendance.

Oh, I so want them genes in my legacy.  He also has a ridiculously deep voice.

Greedy Girl: Mmm. Smells like monayy!

The Grill-o-thon picks up, and I spot this guy, who isn't too awful-looking and is a paparazzo to boot. He even puts down his steak to talk to Kelly!

...buuut they don't hit it off. Rats.

Kelly rolls a want to fish, so I let her do that. The prehensile little girl opens up a SECOND bake sale. Her greed knows no bounds. Needless to say, Kelly doesn't buy anything.

It grows dark, and Kelly doesn't catch any fish. She heads to the hangout downtown to try her luck.

No dice.

Still, it's a busy first day, and Kelly falls asleep dreaming of her new house :)

Burnt Mac-n-Cheese and an ectoplasm-spattered jumpsuit. Yes.

She has no car, so I'm interested to see how a ghostbuster gets to work.
She takes a cab.
I feel this is sort of unprofessional.

...THIS IS AWESOME

Kelly is such a friendly Sim, she wants to go chat with the owners of the house as soon as she's done. But none of that - we've got more jobs to do!

This guy was laughing and making fun of Kelly, as indicated by his ectoplasm-hating thought bubble.

Serves you right.

Exhausted, Kelly climbs into bed. So ends day 2.

I discover I can pull the spirits out of Kelly's inventory. Here's her first night's loot!
Confession: I actually had to look up online what you're supposed to do with the spirits.

(You sell them to the Science Lab.)

Not bad! (LOL, she's thinking about Deep Voice Guy.)

KELLY GREEN TO THE RESCUE!

Over the next few day, Kelly settles into a nice routine.

She battles spirits...

and poltergeists...

and receives several awards and job promotions.

She even earns enough to buy a bike! Yay, no more taking the taxi to clients' homes!

There is a story here.
Kelly rolled a want to visit the graveyard, which I obliged with, figuring that maybe it could help her career as well.  As soon as she arrives, she - autonomously - jumps in the pool.  I panic for a second before I realize that TS3 Sims are smart enough to climb out of pools without ladders.
Kelly also rolled a want to go skinnydipping.
So, that happened~COMING UP NEXT

>>>Notes
-No, you won't see a lot of Shadows in this.  It's purely for fun.  I'm going through a rough patch right now, and I needed a lighthearted project.
-Blingees are awesome.  Just admit it.  ;)
