we banged on blue drums and called it bluegrass

Brokeback was even more, um, devastating? this time around. Maybe it's just because tears are contagious and Roo was crying for the last twenty minutes or more and because it was close to one in the morning and cold as a tomb in that old theater. I don't know.

I do know that it's been snowing all day and I still have a class left to teach and just . . . thank god it's Thursday night.

I wish a had a funny or quirky story to tell, but I don't really. I had about 7 students roll over from from my Western Civ. I course into the II course this semester, including one half of what I like to call The Dynamic Mormon Duo. They're twins and together they're just really, really special. Anyway, I started the class on Tues and all I had was Thing One and she was very subdued and pleasant. (I thought that Thing Two might have been sent on Mission.) But today, before class even started, Thing Two accosted me and told me that his semester really wasn't complete without a class from me. To which I responded, of course, that my semester wasn't complete without having him in class. I signed his transfer request on the spot.

For the first time in forever omg Denver has three sports teams (The Nuggets, Avs and Broncos) all at the top of their divisions. It's a very giddy kind of experience. Friday's Nuggets/Jazz game is a must win for us to keep that lead in the NorthWest.

Off to brave the elements.
