I'll take two of what you're havin' and I'll take all of what you've got
I got three very interesting emails from my boss yesterday.
The first one was her typical "it's the end of the semester and I haven't seen you in months are you alive and OMG I need to evaluate you how about today?"
To which I said, "Mer. Mmkay." And of course she never showed up. Typical of her. I have no idea how the woman got to be an administrator. But it's one of the perks of the job, right? I don't, really, ever have to see her except for when she remembers that I'm her employee, and that, is on the whole, less than once a semester.
The second email was the re-hire for the spring. Along with the offer to teach an extra class. And not only that, but a NEW class, HOLYSHIT. A class that's only been in the catalog since this semester.
To which I said, *panic attack* "I can't possibly teach a class on the modern world but alrighty if you insist."
The third email was, in fact, a warning to "at risk" professors. Meaning, I suppose, those that weigh under 150lbs and have not recently retired from the military. There has been a rash of student attacks on profs in the classroom and we should all be aware of the warning signs. Irritability, confrontational behavior etc. If faced with an angry student, we should admit that we are terrible people and offer them a drink of water from a paper cup. This should diffuse any violent situations. Apparently.
I'm not concerned.
Lastly, Don and Kim have set me up again. I'm not getting my hopes up. He's kinda like Manu only instead of being an Italian/Argentine, he's a Peruvian/German. Still, he can talk dirty in three languages. Four if you count math since he has a MS in electrical engineering.
We'll see how long it takes me to fuck this up, shall we?
