Taking Back Sunday

Jan 09, 2005 15:03

I have just spent, like, three hours taking notes on Persia. (Paying specific attention, of course to the reigns of Cyrus the Great and Darius, as well as Zoroastrianism.) All and all it turned out better than yesterday when I was taking notes on Egyptian vs. ancient Meopotamian religions (harmony, death and changelessness vs. unpredictablity, The Wrath Of The Gods, and Submission to Divine Will)during which I developed a migrain and passed out.

I have, as of this afternoon, completed my notes from the paleolithic to the Persian Empire. Of course, a minute ago, I looked at the class schedule and realized that I have three weeks to cover ALL OF THAT MATERIAL. I have, I figure, about 16 weeks to go from neandertals to The Age of Reason. I suppose that's why it's a survey. Right?

Thing is, the last time I taught the course I only went up to the fall of the Roman Empire. HA. Apparently, these folks expect me to cover a bit more ground.

Did I mention that I'm teaching college this semester? Yeah. How exciting. The salary should just about cover the cost of gas for my 45 minute commute.

Also, in completely random and unrelated news - my parents brought my car back to me today. I didn't want my car back. I wanted to be stranded at home with nothing to do but sit in bed surrounded by text books and then sit in front of the TV. Oh well. I will pretend it's not out there in the driveway.

And now that my notetaking is done for the day? I will write something, I think. Perhaps I will write Harry Potter slash. Yes. With Draco in drag. And if I do? I blame you, mantypants
