These superior beings lived in harmony with mankind for centuries, until one was born who would threaten the peace and change the world.
Chapter 1
Esther's eyes roamed around the office's Identifier General's office. She was never really comfortable being the place in the beginning, but after what happened the first time she was here she hated it. She sat on the other side of the desk, her fingers played with a loose string upon her dress. She waited for the two men behind the desk to determine what would be done now. Mikeal took hold of one of his wife's hands to stop her from fiddling with the string.
"See here." Tap went the Identifier General's finger upon the display on his desk. "That's what you need to look for. We now know that a virus activates it. This virus plays some unknown role in the birth of the Brothers. Of course the mutations occurs very rarely these days. And only in males."
She gasped lightly and the grasp upon her husband's hand tightened at the Identifier's explanation for she knew what she feared was true. That the son that laid in her womb was a Brother, just like her older son that the Brotherhood had taken from her.
"Strange, isn't it?"
"Strange?" Asked the young man that Esther guessed was probably a Junior Identifier.
"That God would choose such a humble vehicle for a miracle."
Ha. She wanted to laugh at the Identifier General said. If the church had known that she was, that she was a witch, she would be considered condemned not praised as a miracle. Then again these men probably wouldn't care with the rarity of a Brother being born.
"You don't need to worry. The Brotherhood will take care of him and raise him in the church. It's a blessing really. He'll want for nothing. Not like the rest of us."

It was the day. The day Esther was to give birth to her son. All the pain and effort she had gone through to bring her son into the world, only to lose him to the Brotherhood. After one painful push, the cries of her newborn son broke into the air. The nurse cleaned off the child and placed the baby into the bassinet away from her. Away from her arms, where she could never hold him again.
She peered past the side of her husband, who sat by her side, at the young boy that stood by the Brother who walked over to the bassinet.
She knew without a doubt that as she reached out for the young boy that he was hers. That he was her Elijah, the first son that the Brotherhood had taken from her. Hot tears ran down her cheeks as she reached out for him. When he turned to look at her, his brown eyes stared back her, his brown eyes stared back at her with curiosity.
"Elijah..." Called out the elder Brother. The boy turned his attention to the older vampire as he listened to him. "This is your brother. Because you share the same mother you will help guide him as he grows. We will call him Niklaus."
Elijah looked back at the tearful face of his mother with a birdlike tilt of his head. Before he could decide what he wanted to do with this information, Senior Brother Silas called his name again.
Elijah's dark eyes glanced at his newborn brother's tiny fangs as he wailed. Silas reached out a hand to gently run over a hand to gently run a hand over the baby's head. A small smile appeared upon the man's lips before he spoke.
"Welcome to the world, little brother."
A/N: Yet another attempt at making a crossover fic. I'm curious about whether I should continue this or not.
