Busy busy still. Been getting lots of overtime since my supervisor was gone for a week (his wife had a baby so I kinda got to play head of the department for a while), and then the other guy who worked in my department got fired the week after. Meanwhile, I recently hit my 90 day mark so I get paid holidays now, and a chance at the company insurance. Today my direct supervisor took me out to lunch and told me I'd be getting my second raise with the next check! *Gleam* It's sad to think I almost gave up on the industry due to my previous job. They treated me so shittily, but now I am making $5 an hour MORE than at said prior job, have benefits, a cool work environment, and I'm told I am the employee everyone should want to have. haha to them! Well, I am suposed to get some new training soon which will be cool because I always like to learn more, and I will get some actual press experience. We'll have a new guy starting in about a week so maybe things will calm down. I will miss the overtime, but if he's any better than the last guy with the way K and I knock out jobs I will have plenty of time to develop new skills. I'm told any time it gets slow I can chill with people and pick up things from the guys skilled in other areas.
If things keep up at this pace we will definitely be able to get a house before long, providing I can start building up some credit... though I think we may still wait until Asani is finished with her masters and all. The townhouse is ok when it's not leaking, and the upside is we don't have to worry about our own repairs. Also, I definitely want to see how well prepared the area is during the next hurricane season before investing that much into a property (insurance or not.)
Well, that's about all for now. Time to watch movies with my darling. :)
Tomorrow will be the start of a fun filled weekend, which
jeustr has already
detailed.
