Yes, the flowers turned out to be important indeed! XD I could really see the garden as you described it... magical plants, with the poisonous one mixed in like little metal spikes. And blue roses! Grown without magic, maybe, but I bet magic was used in breeding them to that color.

Chibi-Fai seems to be awfully absentminded and dreamy... Why do I get the feeling that will get him in more trouble than he can handle later :( But the chibis are so cute! Little Chibi-Fai wriggling around trying to get out of trouble... if the prince HAD hit him, I shudder to think of how Fai would have reacted. O_O

Nope - no breeding of the flowers~ In ye olden times of the orient (preceding the 12th century, when a translation of the idea was brought to the West) blue roses were basically just white roses dyed blue, but in a particular way. China was renowned for having a method that would produce the most beautiful healthy blue flowers; they'd scratch away some of the bark at the roots and carefully place pellets of a secret blue dye inside. The exact method for growing and maintaining the roses, and the composition of the dye were kept secret, so that nobody could rival the Chinese flowers.

OMGILOVETHISSTORYSOMUCH! I hope very very much, that you're already planning out and writing the next part and it wasn't boring at all, it was foreboding and cute! (the twins and the poisonous plants and the despairing slaves carrying the parasol.. *-*)
Especially the mental image of Kurogane and chibi Fai in a staring contest... *dies of cute*

I love you forever for continuing this story! (To be honest it even overtook Ever After on my fav list of Kuro-Fai stories... probably due to the chibis turning up.)
