So Asschin is to Clow as Watanuki is to Syaoran - Fei Wong was created to fill the gap Clow left when he went to another dimension to pay his price of time for his unconscious wish to keep Yuuko alive. Asschin was formed from that wish, and so he’s just a little obsessed with keeping it up - it’s basically his whole existence. (If Yuuko dies, so does he?)
On another point - dear Lord Kurogane had some pretty pages to himself this time around. Very pretty, and I’m much more a Fai fan. He got to do the dramatic last blow to Asschin, and so he’s vindicated - but…oh. Afterwards, when Fei Wong has crumbled, he drops his sword. He drops his sword, his precious Ginryuu, his father’s blade, and grabs Fai. Cue squealing.
As for the Syaorans - they’re in nothing with no-one. That big black background is what we last saw in XxxHolic, when they hand the glasses back to Watanuki, so we can expect to see him again in the upcoming Tsubasa chapters. And with Watanuki comes Doumeki - and his magical timey-wimey egg, that nothing comes out of. …Come on, CLAMP. Be kind and put the pieces together in the way I’m thinking you’re putting them.
