The Passing of a Friend
Martin was so much to so many at all kinds of different times. He and I both shared a love for comic books, and heroes of all kinds.
In the recent past, I can think of no other man who has done so much and truly embodied what it means to be a hero, and try to make the world a better place.
He was a political activist, a charitable man, and an inspiration to us all.
Even more so however, I can think of no other man who embodied the following words better. For those that are unaware, this is The Green Lantern Oath made famous by the character Hal Jordan, one of Martin's favorites, and much like that character, Martin himself recently showed us all that with as great force of will, a person can be reborn.
"In Brightest Day,
In Darkest Night,
No Evil Shall Escape my sight."
"Let those who worship Evil's Might,
Beware my Power, Green Lantern's Light."
