Okay, hit me. Hit me hard. Very hard, and repeatedly.

I need to think about Shikamaru a little more. Ask me questions. Any questions. Camp based, relationships, canon-based, anything. Seriously. ... Or not so seriously, but just anything.

I want to discuss things. Need to. I just don't know where to start.

Itachi in general...

Shikamaru is generally wary of Itachi. Akatsuki member in camp equals bad situation. However, for the moment he is for the most part molified by the assurances of Naruto and Neji that the other Uchiha is an ally and would not hurt any of the Konoha ninja. As far as he is able to set that aside, Shikamaru finds Itachi strangely attractive in a way that he is completely incapable of finding Sasuke attractive. (At least the Sasuke they were chasing in the bucket - post time skip might be another matter entirely.)

Itachi is self-assured, haughty, powerful, and good looking. If we look at the people that Shikamaru is most attracted to, he falls into line quite nicely. Their non-verbal battles of will intrigue him. Itachi's repeated comments that Shikamaru doesn't have the right to order him around are a mild challenge to be met with an amused intensity.

To be frank, he could never display an emotional attatchment to Itachi, but again, outside of camp and barring Neji's solid claim on the Uchiha, Shikamaru would consider it a challenge that would hopefully lead to sexual gratification. As it stands, it's an amusing powerplay to pass the time.

And I have no idea why I didn't see this before. :( I could have sworn I checked back just recently. And I didn't see any notifications in Itachi's inbox from Shika's journal.

We obviously need to have them dot interact more. XD
