I know a girl who was molested by her father when she was young. This girl is now depressed, angry, doesn't really trust many people, and has tried to kill herself numerous times.

I also know someone who grew up in the same situation as the one mentioned before, yet she is one of the happiest people I know. She rarely gets mad or depressed and is a very loving and social person.

There are a lot of reasons why the two are so different, but I honestly think that it's all in the mind. If you choose to be depressed about something like that, then you will be, and you will think your life is so bad, etc. On the other hand, if you have the right frame of mind about things like that it can just make you a better person. Instead of thinking "I got molested, I hate everything", you could think "I got molested, but there isn't any way I could have stopped it. It is his problem."

At least, that's how I see it. It's all in the mind.
