Saturday was a good day. Amanda and I went to this little sale the theatre department did--it started at nine, but we didn't get there until 9:45. By then, almost all the hats, and all the actual costume type costumes were gone. Amanda found a dress she liked anyways, so that's good.
Then I went and got Bobo from his house, and the two of us went garage sale shopping with Mom and Dad for a couple of hours. I bought a copy of Faulkner's The Sound and the Fury and a volume of the Nobel Prize Library that contains some pieces by Faulkner, O'Neill, and Steinbeck. The William Faulkner pieces are A Rose For Emily and As I Lay Dying. Eugene O'Neill's pieces are The Emperor Jones and Homecoming. John Steinbeck's piece is In Dubious Battle. It also has their acceptance speeches and such. I'm pleased, actually.
Let's see... After garage-saling for a while, I had to go pick up Rena and Palmer (Megan Palmer), Kelly's friends. We went to Pegasus Loft (a gaming store), and I bought dice, old Dragon magazines, and some Almond Pocky. Did y'all know it's D&D's 30th anniversary? Well, now you know. Anyway, it was so geek-testosterone filled! The guys playing 3rd edition in the back literally stopped their game to watch us as we looked around. You'd think they'd never seen girls before.
Oh, wait, maybe they hadn't. *dies* Sorry, but it was just creepy. I think I'll go back again, hah hah!
After Pegasus Loft, we went to the little Asian food store in town. That was interesting, as it had moved and none of us knew where we were going. Fun fun fun. Once we found it, I got... Daifuku, and some Pocky (whipped chocolate and whipped vanilla; Kelly bought Cake Pocky, which is strawberry gateau (sp?) flavored). Delicious. Then we went to Sevvi's Burrito Shop, and I had some fresh, hot tortillas. They were totally to-die-for. Yum.
Sorry for the pointless ramble that none of you care about, but at least it shows that I did something with my weekend, for once.
